My venue has blue and yellow carpets but my colors are a bright pink with royal blue so I dont think it needs to match UNLESS the venue’s carpets/colors are extremely obvious. Do you plan on having uplighting? I think that may help also.

I would google pics of your venue to see different color schemes that have been used. I did that for mine just to be sure.

You google your venue name + wedding + photos or you can even add blog bc so many photographers have a blog so that’s where I find the best pics!

Are you planning on doing lighting? Or having the lights down? Even with the most hideous carpet, lighting can change the look of it. Having it somewhat candlelit would also hide the carpet.

For instance, your typical brown flooring doesn’t stand out!

The lighting in this one definantly takes away from the checker floor. I don’t think it would have looked as nice without it!

Are you having dancing? I’m only assuming so due to the dance floor tiling. If you’re having a dj, do they have lights? If the dj has lights, you’d be able to turn the lights off, or at least dim and use candlelight/dj lights.

@Junip3r:  a venue doesnt have to come with uplighting. You can get it from your DJ or any lighting company.
