@missbiscuit: I live in Socal and i was asking around before i found my all-inclusive venue……seems like the going price is $2500….and sometimes is depends on how big the wedding is going to be.  Looks like you are in Sonoma….$2800 sounds about right.

have you considered asking the new DOC for her portfolio or refs?

Our DOC is $900 for our wedding in Mill Valley — she is from San Jose, but has also done weddings in Napa before.  She’s fairly new at weddings, but used to work in corporate event coordination.  Another one I was looking into was $1400 and brings an assistant the day of, but she was booked for our weekend and recommended the one we ended up with.  We still have a long way before the wedding, but we’ve been very happy with her so far!  $2800 seems pretty high, unless the DOC is really amazing!

I’m getting married at the Marriott in Sonoma which includes a day of coordinator for $300!  I think 2500 is outrageous for day of.  For all inclusive coordinator, yes, but not day of.

The going rate from what I’ve researched is $2500 and up for the good ones.  i came across some as high as 4K. I went with someone who was around 3k. Honestly, I don’t think I’d want someone practicing on my wedding day which is probably the $900 people with little experience.  Most of the professionals I talked to said that there is really no such thing as day of because they have to put in a good 6 -8 weeks of prep time to have everything handed off to them, go out to my venue, contact and review plans with me and vendors and do a timeline and be there on the day with an assistant.  That made sense to me.  I’ve spent way more hours than I ever imagined on the planning so far and they probably will have to invest some time on it too.

I am getting married in Napa and just hired a DOC.  I originally thought I didn’t want one.  My mom thought I should have one and I only met with her to please me mom (it was a battle that was easier not to fight).  I ended up loving her!!!!  She is $1,500 and I think it is going to be well worth it!  Message me if you are interested in her information.

My DOC is $150. She is just starting out so her rates are low. I believe her rates are going up at the end of this month. She is in San Jose but may be willing to travel for a fee. PM if you want more information.

Good lord! I had no idea DOCs were in that price range! I’m with you, @missbiscuit:, I thought for day-of only it would be less than $1k. Although I suppose it may be worth it to contact a few of the pricier ones and see what their packages are? They may be flexible, especially if you’re not asking much of them in the weeks beforehand. Always, always negotiate! And good luck!

@missbiscuit – My DOC (for a Sonoma wedding) is in her second year of her business and is great and affordable! You can find her here.

@twitchee27 I clicked on the link that you provided and didn’t direct me to the correct website. Will you please repost? I’m in the process of planning a Sonoma/Napa wedding in Oklahoma so definitely need a wedding coordinator. Thanks so much for your help!

Also, if anyone else has suggestions for a reasonably priced wedding planner please message me!
