I am super organized, a bit obsessive (read:a lot) and very controlling. If I could be my own DOC and get to “be the bride” and just enjoy the day- I totally would!
I need to relinquish my control for my own sanity on the day of and i’ve been looking at DOC’s in the PA/NJ area but they are all so expensive! They offer a lot, and i’m sure it’s totally worth the money, but it’s just not in our budget.
We have a completely DIY type venue where all we get in the rental is the use of the space. We have to bring in everything! This is why I really want a DOC. I just need someone to make sure the decorations are set up as they should be (the caterer will be setting everything up), get people lined up for the ceremony and keep things moving all night. Just show up and run the show on that day- nothing more.
Does anyone know of someone for a reasonable price that can do this? I’m okay with using someone just starting out and trying to gain experience. Like I said, I will have EVERY LAST DETAIL planned. Just need someone to execute!

I have done wedding planning and coordinating on the side years ago. Now I am an RN full time. I am thinking about getting back into it. I am having my wedding in Atlantic city next month. I know what you mean by control freak …every detail must be just right and executed perfectly. I live north of Allentown PA. Where are you located? Maybe I could help you out.

@Mill: I am getting married next weekend (ah!), September 7th, and have a very similar wedding situation. I’m also a bit of a control freak with everything heavily palnned for my all outdoor, rustic, DIY wedding. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said “this would be so great if I wasn’t the bride to be and could just show up and run the event..”. I’ve done other wedding/event planning and coordinating in the past, and I’m actually looking to start doing it on a more regular basis after my wedding. Let me know if you’re interested and what price point you are aiming to stay within.
I’m located in south jersey, about an hour from Stockton, but am willing to drive.
Also, I’m not sure what your theme is, but after the 7th I will have items for sale/rent including 600′ of globe string lights, hand painted wooden directional signs, wooden box centerpieces, table numbers, large wooden slab cake base, and many other items.

@Mill: Where are you getting married? I’m getting married right around there too! Like PP I live about an hour away, but I’m getting married at The Smithville Inn.
