I’m hoping for some advice!
A couple of months postpartum, I began experiencing stiffness and discomfort in my fingers and wrists after sleeping, which would go after a short while and not come back again until the following morning. Initially my doctor thought this was due to my joints tightening back up again after I gave birth to my son. She ordered some blood tests including a full blood screen which came back normal.
However one test was outstanding and has now come back as abnormal. This was the ANA test. I tested positive for P(ANCA) but negative for MPO and PR3 and C(ANCA). My full blood screen came back with no inflammatory markers or signs of infection through raised white cell count. I have been for X-rays on my hands and am waiting to see a rheumatologist. My grip is fine but for years I have been unable to bend my fingers to touch my palm when making a fist.
I didn’t have this pain whilst pregnant. I did however have a vitamin d deficiency for which I still take supplements alongside my breastfeeding vitamins which also contain vitamin d. My vitamin d level was tested again at the same time as the ANA test and is a good level again but I am continuing to take the supplements.
I’m very worried about rheumatoid arthritis. Does anyone have any advice or any experience of similar blood test results?
Thank you in advance!
