    But in truth…

One is as bad as the other…

    Don’t relish either.

(thinking you need another category for your poll)

I don’t mind either. In fact, I love going to the dentist (I’m in the minority I know). I just hate how much it costs……

Dentist.  I’m almost at the point where I need to be sedated to even sit in the chair.

@Sea_Ashley:  it depends on the procedure for me!  I’ll take a general checkup over a root canal any day, but I’ll take pretty much anything over havind my blood drawn *shudders*:/

I just kind of don’t go to the doctor. It’s been over two years and that was a gyn. I haven’t been to just a GP in years and years. Probably in HS when I had strep was the last time. On the other hand I dutifully see my dentist every six months. But it might help that I have seriously had the same one since I was six. My whole family sees him and even though I live four hours away I still go see him when I’m home. Neither has ever really scared me though.

I don’t mind either much.  But I do hate the sound of having my teeth cleaned, it’s like nails on a chalkboard for me.  And I do hate that my rheumatologist takes loads of blood every time I go, because I don’t always remember to eat first and it makes me pretty woozy if I don’t.

I was never afraid of dentists until this one time at my SIL’s job (she’s an assistant) where they were numbing me up for a procedure and injected straight into my nerve/artery.

My face immediately got hot, my heart was pounding, my vision went blurry, and it was the most horrible pain ever!

“oops sorry, must have nicked a big vein”

    yeah you suck!

I don’t mind either much but if I had to pick one I tend to avoid the doctor more. Only because I’m just not a huge fan of being poked and proded in places. But it’s nothing that I really dread.

The dentist doesn’t bother me at all. I get so many compliments at the dentist its usually a good ego boost! LOL. I love hearing about my “perfect” teeth.

I would rather birth another 8 lb baby instead of going to the dentist!!!!!!! I’ve had more than one dentist try to numb me with Novocaine and injected into a nerve…I almost vomited on the dentist the pain was so severe!!!!!!! Now he has to sedate me BEFORE I even walk into the place and I get gas all throughout all procedures!

I don’t mind either one, but I’ve had very bad experiences with dentists. So I’m pretty nervous about having to find a new dentist this week.

I have had the same GP doc for 20 years, so no worries there.

I hate the dentist…but it’s for a really weird reason. The smell of dentist offices makes my jaw hurt. It’s like it makes my muscles in my jaw tense up. I can handle them poking around my mouth and even getting a tooth filled (I had so many as a kid that it no longer bothers me) but I hate the smell.

I hate going to the doctor! They’re always behind schedule and I end up waiting like an hour just for a 15 minute appointment. I have a really kind and dedicated doctor now (and a really nice naturopathic doctor), but my previous GP and all of the other random doctors I’ve seen just told me that my illness was in my head and stuff like that and didn’t try AT ALL. I have had an undiangnosed chronic illness for two years now, but the past 6 months have been way better. I just woke up one day in March and felt a bit more normal and it got better everyday. I don’t understand how if it was an anxiety disorder or something that I was making up in my head, how I would just all of a sudden feel better and undevelop almost all of my symptoms in a matter of weeks. My current GP says my hormones and thyroid must have leveled themselves out. I still feel sick frequently – mostly daily, but it only lasts for half an hour as opposed to all day everyday! I guess just having such terrible experiences with doctors not trying to find out what’s wrong with me has made me really hate going 🙁

I love my dentist though. It’s really awesome there and I’ve been seeing him since I was a baby (: they have a TV above each chair so you can choose a show to watch while you’re getting your teeth worked on! It’s great!

I hate the dentist with a fiery passion.  I never minded going to the doctor, though.

I actually enjoy the dentist. Though this is coming from someone who has never had a cavity, wisdom teeth out, braces or any other major teeth events. That may change if I have to get work done.
