We went together to look and I told him my favorite, but told him that I wanted him to select it. When he gave it to me later, it was the one I wanted most. ๐Ÿ™‚

I completely picked mine out.  I didn’t want a solitaire, and so it seemed like the best thing to do.

We wandered through a jewelery store once and I tried on a few things to get an idea of what I liked/didn’t like.

We went to the store once so he could see things I liked and didn’t like.  In the end, he’s the one that made the final decisions.

I told him what I like and showed him pictures of what I like and don’t like. He picked it out himself.

I sent my fiance links to about 5 different rings that I loved, all with slightly different styles but similar in that they all were white gold w/round solitaire diamonds.  If I had left it completely up to him I probably would’ve ended up with a yellow gold ring with a cluster of small diamonds (not my style).  Thankfully he picked out my favorite one, and I love it!

If you’re afraid he doesn’t know your style well enough, give him some suggestions, or show him examples of a few different styles that you like so he gets an idea.  This is a pretty big purchase for a lot of couples, and you’ll be wearing it for a long time, you should like it!

He proposed without a ring. Then he told me how much he wanted to spend and let me pick it out myself.

yes. it was the first time we went ring shopping we saw it. When I first saw the ring I started to shake. I even started to tear up. I loved it. I think I even told the sales person that he better take it away from me because I was tempted to steal it. ( joking). Fiance knew that it was the ring for us. He says that  never forget that day. ๐Ÿ™‚

I gave him certain criteria to choose from (for example, I gave him my three favorite cuts for the center stone), but in the end, he chose it and had it custom made.  It turned out so beautifully.  ๐Ÿ™‚
