Do any UK bees out there know how much it costs to hire a villiage hall or a masonic hall or whatever for a wedding reception? or even if you have hired one for a party how much does it cost? I have never planned anything before and just wondered if it is worthwhile hiring one of these for our venue (only having a buffet not sit down meal) and decorating it ourselves or should we be looking for something more upscale (tiny budget though)
Any help you can give me would be great, also i am in the north west of England x

@sapphirecupcake: Hi, I’ve never hired one out myself but it wouldn’t be much, best way to go if you’re on a small budget

i would say get a few quotes first, we are hiring a football club for the wedding and its costing £1100 but this includes food, a buffet then chocolate fountain and nibbles later but, it doesn’t include drinks for toast etc, this is additional but as we left it til jan/feb time to sort it out we didnt have much choice.

@sapphirecupcake: it depends. I am in the Orange Order and I know you can hire our halls very cheaply for functions, a couple of hundred quid max – guessing it would be the same for a decent masonic as we’re usually around the same pricepoint. Good luck 🙂
