@morrisonlives:  Do you do p90x plyos? Plyos definitely helps increase cardio stamina. anytime i’m too “lazy” to drive 15 minutes to the gym, i do p90x. according to my heart rate monitor, i burn about 450-550 calories in the hour workout. pretty good. and you can modify. 🙂

@morrisonlives:  I’m doing Couch to 5K so that I can run my first 5k in February. It’s an 8 week program (the version I have – there are many versions) and slowly builds up your stamina over time. I’m taking longer than 8 weeks because I run about twice a week instead of 3 times like it recommends (I do fitness classes and it is hard to do both in one day for me). I never was any sort of runner before this and I’m over half way through the program now and really feel that I’ll be able to do 5k.

@morrisonlives:  This one is a bit of a late reply but I do a combination of P90x and yoga. P90x plyo is definitely a good way to improve your cardio tolerance. I recommend you start ramping up from doing half the video, 2/3, 3/4 until you make it to the end. Try the p90x2 if that is not the one you are using. The plyo on there is a little less intense than the original p90x. I hope your 5k run went well.
