So not that I don’t feel like this with my fiance on a daily basis, but this year things felt so much more emotional. He even wrote the sweetest christmas card to me and how it was our last “singles” Christmas and how next Christmas I will be his wife. It got me all teary eyed reading it it was so sweet. It was a very nice loving Christmas this year. Hope you all experienced the same.

Yes, we are much more lovey around this time, I think it’s because we were engaged on Christmas morning. :0) It’s always really sweet!

How sweet!! I don’t think I’ll get to have a fiance for Christmas… I think we’ll be married by next Christmas so I’ll respond… My Christmas was very surreal, this was my last Christmas in my 20s and I wasn’t “home” with my family so I was VERY bummed out. M wrote me the sweetest letter and I burst into tears it basically said that he was sorry that WE didn’t get to go home for Christmas, but this is my home now and it was just perfect and sweet and romantic and us. We were sitting on the couch and had just watched a movie from the 70s that was pretty funny (Richard Pryor). it was the perfect way to end Christmas and it was just well awesome… I love him soo much..

We weren’t able to be together on Christmas (long distance relationship), but we have a very romantic “Christmas” morning planned for my first full day in town when I visit him next week, and I’m SUPER excited about that!

Yes it has been a very very loving Christmas. I think that it has to do with us knowing that THIS IS IT and we’ll soon be husband and wife. Even frined have told us that we seem so in love. It’s a wonderful feeling!

I’ve felt all lovey and other things as well. On Christmas Eve he told me that he told his folks that he was going to ask my folks permission. I instantly got teary eyed right there in church! Then on Christmas day he came to my folks place in the morning…I had stayed at their house instead of my place and slept on the sofa with the dog (I do have my old bedroom, but if the dog wanted to go out at 3am I’d have to get up and take her downstairs only for her to really just want to bark), and so when he showed up I pretended to be asleep under the blanket so he could wake me up on Christmas morning. I know it sounds silly. 😉
When I think about it, what is I noticed more than feeling all lovey was feeling this absolute comfortable feeling, and a feeling of ‘family’. It just all felt so right. None of that first-Christmas-as-a-couple-nerves I felt last year. The 23rd was my birthday, and we went out to dinner with my family AND his. First time we’d done a combined event like that, and first time my dad had reatlly met his mom (they might have briefly met 15 years ago, but no one really remembers). It went very smoothly, and it felt so natural and comfortable. It was a bringing together of the two families, and just such a wonderful moment.

- Wedding: June 2010 - Ceremony - First United Methodist Church; Reception - My parents' house!
We’ve actually been a lot more lovey post-Christmas, since a lot of the stress is gone. 🙂

You are not alone! Yesterday I stocked up on the discount Christmas decor in preparation for next year’s Christmas being (a) our first married Christmas and (b) totally cozy-romantic and awesome. Your fiance sounds like a great guy! That’s very sweet of him to write that note
