Haha you are not alone. I am a pathetic baby about uncomfortable clothing, and it doesn’t help that my skin is super-sensitive to fabrics (I have spontaneously purchased entire new outfits on multiple occassions simply because my clothing was too itchy to wear for more than 10 minutes). On the plus side, I’m outrageously allergic to cashmere, angora, wool, etc. so it saves me a ton in expensive winter clothes. ๐Ÿ™‚

At my law school dinner I wore a gorgeous sequined gown that was pretty comfortable except for under the armpits where the sequins touched my skin (and gave me a rash). My night was not fun until I had a couple of glasses of wine in me!

My suggestion is to purchase really comfortable undergarments if you can, and esp. for the heat, I suggest getting a breathable, simple dress for the reception and changing if your discomfort will keep you from enjoying your party! Or wait until the alcohol kicks in?!

Woohoo, at least you look hot!

My dress is not exactly comfy, either.  I’m generally the tomboy type, more interested in comfort than style.  I never ever in a million years thought I’d get a big, poufy, heavy dress.  Until I tried it on and fell completely in giggling, stupid, girly love.

It’s just for one special day.  We can put up with a little discomfort, as long as the dress makes us feel beautiful!

Although I am wearing flats with it.  I can only handle so much discomfort in the name of beauty.

Right now my dress is uncomfortable because I gained weight, so I need to lose 5 pounds to fit comfortably in my dress again, once I do that my dress and I will have a happily ever after on my wedding. LOL! =D

My dress was uncomfortable for a second reason, but it was such an easy fix. When I bought the dress the woman didn’t tell me I wouldn’t need a bra, so I bought a bra and found out that I had to stuff my tits into this dress, and being a busty girl that was painful! But when I went to my alterations lady she told me to take off the bra and the dress had cups in the bodice already, so now my dress is super comfy and my breasts are happy!

My dress is so f-ing uncomfortable. It is a tiny bit to small, but it zips, gives me the tiniest waist I have ever had, my posture is amazing in the thing, I look like im at least 5 inches taller and I wanted to rip the damn thing off. Ugh and the tulle as it rubs against your legs fml and my gown has embeoidery and lace and sequins and rhinestones and all that gorgeous nonsense and it rubs against my armpits and hurts ๐Ÿ™ but I can live with that, what I cant live with, is how HOT the dress is! WOW, I put it on today and paraded around in it for an hour or so for my family, first time the thing closes, yay diet! I was sweating  like a pig over a fire by the time I took it off. And my wedding, as well, appears to be on the beach (based on today I am hell bent on changing Fiance mind lol). If not I am changing the inner lining to cotton or something not polyester-like and changing the tulle for a hoop skirt. I will be comfortaboe damn it

I normally don’t wear dresses, so I know it’ll be uncomfortable for me. I’m the jeans & a tshirt or nice blouse kind of girl.

The last time I wore a dress was Feb 2012, when we went to vegas… before then.. I hadn’t worn one since my prom!

yes it is very uncomfortable!! Hard to bend over and a bit hard to breathe, style does not equal comfort

My dress was super comfy, but the Spanx I wore underneath.. not so much. They were the little shorts kind and they dug into my tummy over time. I wore them one day as a test run and they gave me heartburn! I was very worried for the big day but luckily no heartburn that time!

I didnt wear spanxs but I did wear tight long undergarments that was yummy
