FantasticFawn:  Chula_784:  Thanks!! I have been considering this (with H) for months, and I’m very lucky to be able to leave without another job. My salary was only 20% of our total income, which was part of the problem. I’m interviewing and sending lots of resumes, and in a few days job-hunting will be my job. I have NEVER quit a job without another job and I’ve been in the workforce over 20 years.

MeandMyLouboutins:  Good luck with your applications! As a piece of totally unsolicited advice, one thing I would do differently if I could go back to law school is explore more job options other than working in biglaw. At my school, we were really pushed toward the big law firms, and that’s probably what 80% or more of my class ended up doing after graduation. However, there are so many amazing opportunities out there for brand new lawyers – you can work at a nonprofit, for the government, at a think tank, consulting, etc. The problem is that once you pick one path, it’s very difficult to change course.

I worked in healthcare and hated it. I recently made the transition to fast food. (Would you like fries with that?) I have no regrets. I took a pay cut, but the working atmosphere is 10x better. So is the schedule which is the most important thing to me. I think as long as you are honest with yourself about what’s important it’s best to do what makes you happy. I have no intention of being a career woman, I want to be a mom. A lot of women do both – I don’t want to. We spend 5 out of 7 days at work, it can’t be something you HATE or you’ll be miserable.

I hated my job so much.  I had extreme anxiety and dreaded going to work every single morning. It’s a horrible way to live.  I finally quit last year and it was such an amazing feeling to walk out for the last time!  I don’t work now, but it’s likely I will again someday and I will 100% be changing my field, even if it means a significant pay cut or starting over.  Life is so very short to spend it miserable.  I envy people who can clock in and then clock out and not bring it home with them, but I am not one of those!

I have 2 jobs in different departments at the same company. One is awesome, and one is the worst! The supervisor is terrible and morale is so low. That job, currently 20 hours a week, is becoming full-time. I chose not to apply for it because I don’t want to leave the other (good) department, and now things are getting downright awkward when I have to constantly explain why I didn’t want my own job…

I am so happy that I’m not alone, honestly ever since I graduated last spring, I’ve been working random jobs in the field, and I hate every single one. I work in Advertising, it’s a horrible career to get into. Countless hours, low pay, and horrible bosses.

My real passion is Makeup Artistry, I’d LOVE to be a full time business owner again, have my own company but unfortunately money comes first now that I have responsibilites and bills.

I love my job but i hate the company and people. Fiance had to talk me into staying in my field but looking at a different company. I work with guys who think since im a woman i dont know my field or ive been told that im not smart enough to talk to someone about an item even though its part of my job. Ive been told since im getting married i should quit so a man can have my job and also there is no point in my job as id be better suited as a receptionist. I get everything thrown back at me even when im correct and have to have my boss push it through or else it never gets done.  I cant wait to find another job as i know this isnt the norm in the field.

I own my own pharmacy..and I should be happy right?? I love the “job” but I cant stand listening to people complaining and complaining….every morning I open, I will be like “let’s see how many people can exaggerate how they are feeling today”.  It never stops! I know a pharmacy is a place where sick people come in..i know that…but come on..people complain because they have to pay for the medicine, people complain about everything! And the nasty comments I get “are you feeling cold today? Why are you wearing a scarf?” “why do you wear black? did someone die?” “are you pregnant? you look fatter” “Do you have any samples so that I dont buy the medicine?” “Any perfume samples because I dont need the whole bottle” “Why cant I get these for free? Back in my country we can” – so then go to your freakin country.  The worst are the retired old ppl who come to retire in our warm climate “back at home we can buy toothpaste for 50c”. Once I told a person “well darling you are not at home anymore so get used to paying for stuff like we do! Back at home you cannot go swimming for 7 months a year, you also have to pay your heating bill and medical insurance while here you get free healthcare”. UGGGHHHH Im only in this business because of the money which is darn good and maybe in 5 years time when all my debt is clear, I can get someone full time and I dont work anymore! Some ppl come in so that I tell them “Dont worry, nothing is wrong..no you dont have cancer in your brain because you woke up with a headache.  Do you want something for the headache? No” “no you dont need to go to the emergency at hospital just because you have period pain” “just because you quit smoking 2 weeks ago doesnt mean your full 60 years of smoking will just pass away and yes 60years of smoking will make you feel without breath after going up a hill” “I dont want the brand manufactured in that country..I want the brand manufactured in the other country but I want to pay the price of the first one”  “I got some free medicine from the government. Can I sell it to you?” “I have a high cholesterol but I do not want to take medicine, what can I do? Honey stop eating!” “14yr old -Pregnancy test is showing that Im pregnant but I have never been with someone. What should I do? – Take another test – 2nd test came out positive – Honey I dont think the test can lie – person ended up being 3 months pregnant and her mother was buying her protein bars and slim shakes coz she was gaining weight!” How stupid can any one person be???…Sometimes I would just want to shut myself in a room and never speak to anyone again! It is the 5 people/day with this stupid attitude that makes my day unbearable!

I don’t hate my job but I hate the new therapist they hired. She’s very immature, unprofessional, jealous, has to be the center of attention and rather lazy at her job. I need my supervisor’s recommendation for school so I’ll suck it up. I’ll give this new therapist 3 months tops anyways.
