Of course I do, this race has been a complete shitshow. TBH I’d question the sanity of anyone who’s like “yeah, this is totally gonna go well, yep, I forsee no problems whatsoever.”

Well I’m passionate about politics and I always follow these things closely. I’m 22 and voted 4 times. But it’s still way too far off to tell anything legit; most democratic countries don’t start debates and polling so early. The US makes it a huge deal for waaaay longer than anyone else does.

What’s your bad feeling about? If you don’t mind my asking. A specific candidate? Realclearpolitics.Com for the latest polls and match-ups.

You should look forward to voting. It is one of our greatest rights as citizens, and one of our greatest responsibilities.

there is so much negative press, spin and BS in the media though. maybe sticking to foreign news sources like BBC/BBC America would help you better understand the candidates without the anxiety. The foreign media is often less emotional and more fact-based than the American media.

I must be crazy for commenting on anything concerning the subject, but I too have had bad vibes about this particular election. None of the candidates seem to be worth a tinker’s damn in my opinion, and it almost seems like the whole thing is one massive joke that is being perpetrated on the American people. My husband and I have been discussing this for quite a while now, and it honestly feels like there is no viable candidate out there.

Politicians are all crooked and sleazy in their own ways, but I feel like the circus has come to town and turned the sideshow act loose on the campaign trail. This honestly may be the first election that I don’t vote in, because I don’t like any of the candidates.

serenitysky:  Eek. I’m with you, I don’t even know where to start.

All I know is that if Trump and Clinton end up on the ballot, Ralph Nader could actually have a shot this year!

serenitysky:  Ok, so Trump! Here’s the thing there: he is offensive to everyone. Women, hispanics, muslims, and anyone who associates with those groups. He will NEVER get enough votes to become president. So as a liberal, you should actually hope that he gets the nomination. Polls show Clinton and Sanders beating Trump. Sanders beats both Cruz and Trump by a wider margine than Hillary, simply because he’s more likeable than her.

The two most likely Republican candidates are Cruz and Trump. Cruz has a much better shot at the presidency. Here’s a really fun twist: Donald Trump has claimed that if he doesn’t get the nomination, he’s going to run 3rd party!!

That would be FANTASTIC for democrats. Because if Trump ran 3rd party, it’d split the Republican vote in half! So say Sanders is the Democrat nominee.  Sanders would end up winning by a long shot, because Cruz and Trump would end up only around 25% each. 25% Cruz, 25% Trump, and that’s 50% for the democrat.

Either way, Trump is not the future president of the US. The media is giving him a ton of attention. And yes, he’s winning the polling in some states. But not the important ones.

Also, the Republican National Comittee doesn’t even support Trump. His nomination would force a lot of moderate Republicans to go Democrat for this election.

Hope that makes sense! And all of my knowledge is thanks to my history teacher Fiance, lol 🙂

I feel like if I vote it will be insincere, since I don’t support any of the candidates. I do feel like there is something almost “fake” about this particular election, but have no concrete reason to feel this way aside from shitty candidates whom I halfway expect to roll into the next debates on unicycles juggling bowling pins and singing showtunes.

serenitysky:  fi and I have a plan if trump wins. He works for a company that has a London office and we are going to try to get a transfer for him to try that office. I’m black and Mexican culturally. (I do have white in me too but I wasn’t raises in that culture) so trump being president is my nightmare.

lovelyruby:  he has already said he would not run third party because he knows that that would create a win for liberals.

But I also dont believe he will be the republican candidate. Cruz is really catching up on polls.
