My wedding day is drawing nigh and I just don’t/can’t give two craps about anything that is not directly wedding/honeymoon related. Ireland going bankrupt? Don’t care. Federal Reserve meddling in the economy and not in a good way? Don’t care. Holidays coming soon? Don’t care.
Bee posts regarding pot roast, lingerie and cheating? Care. A lot. lol Plus, I’m forgetting everything, all the time. I’m temping right now (long story) and worked last week at two places I’ve been countless times and in both forgot how to work the phones. At the marketing company, I actually told them something was wrong with their phone! Nope, just something wrong with my brain. lol Talk about feeling like a fool!
Also, it’s not helping that I’m unable to sleep (even the help of pharmaceuticals:), I’ve developed a permanent stress ache in my neck (despite daily yoga) and I just can’t seem to chill out. At all. As the Buddhists say, I can’t turn off the “chattering monkey” of my mind. Definitely easier said than done 🙂
Anyway, anyone else find themselves becoming absent-minded or unable to focus on things you used to find important as your wedding day nears?

I had that happen the week before my wedding. i was working on table numbers at my mom’s house and had to rush to a hair appt 30 minutes away. I forgot my entire purse! Luckily my stylist is a friend, but my mom had to drop it off because I didn’t have time to go back and get it. (That’s just one of many examples!)

My wedding is just under a year away and for me, “wedding brain” comes and goes. Some days, I’ll be totally obsessed and have to write down a bunch of ideas and then I can go for a week or two and not really care.
I’m sure once it gets closer, I’ll have it on my mind constantly.
Your wedding is only a few weeks away (eeek!!) No wonder you’re forgetting how to use phones 🙂

@mrs.greengrass: I’ll consider myself lucky if that’s all I forget. lol
@PinkStripes: Ha! Are you ever in for it come Sept./Oct. 🙂
The thing I’m most worried about right now is making out the shot list for the photog (I need to get it done in the next two days-or else). I know from experience (ahem) that it’s one of the most important things you’ll have to do before your wedding. Wait until you have to sit down and think of all the people and possible permutations of your photo opps-the mind boggles. Even if you use a spreadsheet, calculator, Chinese abacus, you’ll still forget something/someone important. Guaranteed. For me it was a full-length shot of me in my dress, alone and holding my bouquet. Duh! lol
