I’m an older bee (56 & a mother of a bride). My husband and I have been married 27 years and we’ve talked about upgrading my wedding set in several years. I have a .25 diamond cathedral engagement ring with a matching curved 3 stone wrap (.15 c I think), both in yellow gold.
Having had a very classic ring, I’d like to get something a bit more unique with either a mossanite or gemstone solitaire. I’ve been admiring many beautiful rings and realize one of the elements that I seem to love in many rings is ‘swirls’ or curves in the settings.
Does anyone else like this type of element?
It can be knots like these rings from Gemvera:
Or swirls around the stone itself like these from Moissaniteco: (don’t care for the matching band of the first one though, too matchy matchy for me.)
Or twisted or swirly shanks like these:
I even like bypass rings and some modern bezel rings like these (which I’m not generally a fan of) because of the swirls. (Although I probably would not get one because I don’t want a huge gap with a straight wedding band.)
As well, I like this scroll band from ewedding bands:
As you probably have judged, I’m a big fan of amethyst and yellow gold. (Although I would have gotten white gold when I was married, it wasnt available then but I’ve learned to love yellow gold).
Comments, feedback? (edited to add another ring)

I LOVE curvy swirly type settings 🙂 I have a rhr that is similar to the gemvara with looping infinity like setting and cluster diamonds!

LOVE!! My favorite by far 🙂

I love “swirly” settings! Especially knot-style rings. I looked at tons when I was picking out my engagement ring, but I ended up falling in love with a very simple and lovely bezel solitare.
Might find something swirly and fancy for the wedding ring though, maybe!

@Catgal3: If swirls are your style, go for it. Congrats on 27 years of marriage!
I don’t know if this counts, but I like the curves on this one:

Glad to know that their are others who share my ‘swirly’ love 🙂
Somethingaquamarine, that is a very pretty, graceful setting.

I’m not sure if this is swirly enough (when compared to the rings you posted), but my engagement ring is kind of swirly on the sides:
I think you can see the swirls best in this picture, but they’re still maybe not as obvious as they are in person. That was one of the things I liked most about my setting … I thought it made it kind of different.

There is one bee who has a e-ring that swirls with a band that fits into it to complete the swirl…it’s sooooo pretty, I think so every time I see it. I’m trying to remember her username, but hopefully she sees this thread and posts!

YAY, a fellow Gemvara lover!
This is my future Gemvara e-ring – the Hercules Knot design (peridot and palladium):

I LOVE knot-style rings. If I were to pick out my engagement ring now I’d pick one like that. I also like what they represent – love knot, being intertwined, etc. And I love the MoissaniteCo. floral-like band. I saw a picture of that once and fell in love. They’re all gorgeous.
