I totally don’t care about garters at all. Not buying a fancy garter, not doing the garter toss (I actually find it really awkward as a guest when I have to watch some groom digging around up some bride’s skirt so I’m not gonna subject my guests to that).

prettyinpink11:  Same! I bought a super cheap one and didn’t even end up using it, nor do I know where it is now! Lol… most likely in a one of the boxes of wedding things in the basement I still haven’t gone through. :/

I didn’t care either. My mom bought one from Walmart one random day. I wore the one that was tossed and I’m assuming the guy kept it for the night and then tossed it in the trash haha.

prettyinpink11:  You’re not the only one.  I didn’t even think about it until I saw this thread actually!  It was an item that doesn’t hold any sentimental value for me, so I bought a cheapie off Etsy and the person that caught it probably threw it away.

We’re skipping that tradition completely.

My garter is actually going to be my something borrowed and if my sis-in-law hadnt offered I wouldnt be wearing one at all.  When it starts to bug me it will be coming off.  We are not doing the toss.

I wouldn’t have had one if my mom hadn’t given me one at my shower.  It wasn’t even a nice color!  I wore it for the ceremony because my photographer wanted pics of it, but then it came off – let’s just say they are not one size for ALL thighs 😛

Kelani23:  lmao. I have pretty big thighs too! I know what you mean!

I have one because it was free from my bridal boutique where I bought my dress. I also have a super sexy photo that I really want! And it’s my something blue. But other than that I didn’t even care to have one.

My mom is giving me her garter from her and my step-dad’s wedding (is that weird) and I was going to toss that since she only has it because my aunt thought she should have one even though it was both of their second weddings and they didn’t even do a toss. It’s blue, so that works as something borrowed/old/blue. I’m considering if I even want a second one. I don’t see myself holding onto it. I mean, what would I do with it?

I bought a cheap one at Michael’s. Slipped it on below my knwe right before the toss (didnt feel like wearing it all day). I have no idea what happened to it after the toss. It didn’t end up packed in my bags. I don’t really care about not having it either. I wasn’t gonna keep it anywhere special or frame it or anything.

We didn’t do this at our wedding. Both of us felt incredibly uncomfortable with the thought of family and friends seeing him getting up in my junk.

We also didn’t do the bouquet toss come to think of it.
