Am I the only one that spent very little on a garter and doesn’t care about loosing it in the toss? My wedding is in less than three weeks and I bought two garters (yay Joanns), but it feels uncomfortable to wear both and I don’t see myself keeping it in some special place (probably in drawer somewhere!).
I feel like if I had bought a really pretty set, I’d love to keep one, but spending more money just isn’t in the cards. Anyone else in this situation?

I totally don’t care about garters at all. Not buying a fancy garter, not doing the garter toss (I actually find it really awkward as a guest when I have to watch some groom digging around up some bride’s skirt so I’m not gonna subject my guests to that).

Same! I bought a super cheap one and didn’t even end up using it, nor do I know where it is now! Lol… most likely in a one of the boxes of wedding things in the basement I still haven’t gone through. :/

I didn’t care either. My mom bought one from Walmart one random day. I wore the one that was tossed and I’m assuming the guy kept it for the night and then tossed it in the trash haha.

I didn’t even have one, so yeah not high up on my list of priorities lol

You’re not the only one. I didn’t even think about it until I saw this thread actually! It was an item that doesn’t hold any sentimental value for me, so I bought a cheapie off Etsy and the person that caught it probably threw it away.

We’re skipping that tradition completely.

My garter is actually going to be my something borrowed and if my sis-in-law hadnt offered I wouldnt be wearing one at all. When it starts to bug me it will be coming off. We are not doing the toss.

I wouldn’t have had one if my mom hadn’t given me one at my shower. It wasn’t even a nice color! I wore it for the ceremony because my photographer wanted pics of it, but then it came off – let’s just say they are not one size for ALL thighs 😛

lmao. I have pretty big thighs too! I know what you mean!
I have one because it was free from my bridal boutique where I bought my dress. I also have a super sexy photo that I really want! And it’s my something blue. But other than that I didn’t even care to have one.

My mom is giving me her garter from her and my step-dad’s wedding (is that weird) and I was going to toss that since she only has it because my aunt thought she should have one even though it was both of their second weddings and they didn’t even do a toss. It’s blue, so that works as something borrowed/old/blue. I’m considering if I even want a second one. I don’t see myself holding onto it. I mean, what would I do with it?
haha I agree, I plan to place mine low so my groom doesnt have to dig…But I totally get why you wouldn’t want to do it!
glad I’m not the only one! oh gosh…boxes of stuff are the worst. I’m always like I’ll remember where I packed this!….nope.
I hadn’t even thought about it getting thrown out! See another reason not to spend much money on it!
Exactly! I mean, really what am I going to do with it? display it in my house? That’s kind of gross…lol no one wants to see that!
they really aren’t comfortable. It’s nice for your something borrowed though!
omg right? why are they so tight?? The things we torture ourselves with
mine is blue too! Ohh mind sharing the inspiration for the sexy shot?
Something blue and borrowed nice! I would think you don’t need a second if you’re not even sure what you would do if you kept the first! Like I said to a previous poster…its not like you can display it in your house…I mean you could, but awkward….

I bought a cheap one at Michael’s. Slipped it on below my knwe right before the toss (didnt feel like wearing it all day). I have no idea what happened to it after the toss. It didn’t end up packed in my bags. I don’t really care about not having it either. I wasn’t gonna keep it anywhere special or frame it or anything.

We didn’t do this at our wedding. Both of us felt incredibly uncomfortable with the thought of family and friends seeing him getting up in my junk.
We also didn’t do the bouquet toss come to think of it.
