I will be a Toledo bride as well. I am not from Toledo, but my FF is. I intend to relocate there so this is where the location of our wedding will be. Because I don’t intend to have too much input on my wedding I need to hire a good planner.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a great planner in the Toledo area?

I live in Monroe, MI, but I work in Holland, OH. We got married in Michigan though, the only Toledo vendor I used was for my dress alterations. Like everyone the The Knot’s toledo boards uses the same seamstress, she’s great and super reasonably priced.

There are definitely good venues in Toledo though, Darling Husband and I almost picked Wildwood MetroPark to get married at, but decided against it because of parking concerns, but if your wedding isn’t too big it may be do-able. But we did have our e-pics shot there, they came out super cute!

I do know people who got married in Toledo, but there’s all different types of places…what is your guest list and busget looking like?

@Wonderstruck:  I currently live in Metro Detroit and if I can’t find a job in Toledo in the next year I intend to live in Monroe as well. We just might be neighbors! 🙂

I hope that I can convince my FF to have a small wedding (75 guests), but haven’t had much luck thus far. As far as a budget, I would like to keep it around 15K; no higher than 20K.

My Future In-Laws are very catholic, so we will probably have to have the wedding in a church and the reception site will be separate. My FF said he wanted the reception indoors and in the fall. So, what my baby wants, my baby gets! 😛 I have been looking at various country clubs in the Toledo area–Do you have any experience with any of them? Have you ever been to a wedding at any of them?

I’m a little bummed because I wanted to have the ceremony and reception all at one place (in theory my FF likes the Toledo Museum of Art. I would be ok with this as well).

Who did your e-pics?

I’m not really “bride material” and would prefer to be pretty hands off. Once there is a ring on my finger I intend to hire a great planner to do absolutely everything. I just want to be able to show him/her a few photos of what I like, cut a check and show up with a white dress on when the day comes. 🙂

@evlpc:  I haven’t been to any of the country clubs, sorry! But the Museum of Art is seriously amazing – if we could of afforded it (and since your guest list is smaller and budget is larger, you may be able to!) I would’ve had our reception there in a heartbeat! The Glass Pavilion at the museum is seriously the most gorgeous place for a reception.

Our e-pics were done by Amy at Pure Amour Photography. She is based out of Michigan, we just paid the mileage for her to come to Toledo because her package prices are very reasonable and she does great work.

Hello toledo brides! Im new to the area, and thought it might be cool to meet up with all the area toledo brides. Just to talk about all of our wedding plans, drama, and events, I thought it would be fun! I noticed they were doing it on other boards. Would anyone be interested?

My friend was just telling me about a wedding at put in bay, I rolled my eyes but he said it was the best wedding he had ever been to. The way he described it it sounded really beautiful and well planned, and also a blast!
