At first I was a little worried about getting a fluorescent diamond, but now that I have one, I couldn’t be happier! I love the glow it gets in different lights, whether it be super white or super blue – it’s always gorgeous and interesting! I love to play with it. My diamond is a GIA E colour with strong blue fluorescence. It’s fun to play with the diamond in the dark with a UV lamp. The stone holds some of the uv light for a little while after you’ve turned the lamp off. 🙂

Since a lot of people are (unnecessarily IMO) paranoid about fluorescence, it’s a great way to get more diamond for your $. BG has excellent diamonds, I don’t think you can go wrong there. My pear shape diamond has faint blue fluorescence and my earrings are strong blue. It’s cool to look at them under the UV loupe.

AyJayne: I think if your diamond is still glowing after the light source is turned off it is Phosphorescing! Similar to flouresence but much cooler IRL. It is so rare that it is impossiable to ask for one becuase it is not something that is reported. I wish I had one, ahhhh you are so lucky!!!. It has to do with electrons staying in an excited state! I only want one because I think the chemistry behind it is fascinating but im a bit of a nerd.
Here is a video to compare to see if this is what you are observing.

I love blue fluorescence, its such a unique feature in a diamond! Mine is H color, VVS1 clarity and has strong blue fluorescence. I’ve never actually noticed the color in real life though.

minnie11: Oh you’re welcome! I love to play with my ring in different lights, so it’s really my pleasure. I’m glad I made comparison collage so I could see it in all different lights all at once. 🙂

I love fluorescence! I think it is a super neat “secret”, and I have a little UV flashlight just to look at it whenever ai want. My centre stone has medium fluorescence, two of the sidestones have strong blue:
