saccarabird :  I have got the exact same comments as you with my sapphire e-ring: “Oh.. is that your engagement ring?” It doesn’t bother me at all though, I absolutely love my ring more than anything. Also I think when you add a wedding band (if you plan to) it will make it much more obvious that it is your engagement ring.

Here is mine πŸ™‚

wow, your ring is beautiful and looking at it on your hand…..I would undoubtedly assume you are engaged with that beauty. Sorry to hear you feel that way, as pp said, if you are planning on pairing it with a wedding band that may assist those that are clueless πŸ™‚

PP love yours too

saccarabird :  I really like your pretty ring and if I saw it I would assume it’s your e-ring b/c it’s on your left hand,  however, some ppl are VERY narrow minded. If I had known sapphires we’re historically the original e-ring stone I may have considered going in that direction.

I love your ring!!  I think once you have a wedding band, it will be really obvious that it’s marital bling.  Until then, just try to not let any comments bother you- it’s a beautiful ring.

saccarabird :

Your ring is absolutely beautiful!! How sweet and thoughtful of your Fiance to design something so unique just for you! You should be very proud of your engagement and that stunning ring to symbolize it! πŸ™‚

My ring does not look like a traditional engagement ring at all, and since the design is very subtle and small it doesn’t get noticed a lot, but that does not bother me at all. My Fiance and I designed it together and I love it so much, so the fact that it doesn’t scream “ENGAGED” to strangers is not a problem – the people that are close to us and important in our lives know that we are in a happy committed relationship, and that is what matters πŸ™‚

But you are definately not alone, I understand exactly what you mean! πŸ™‚IMG_2074

saccarabird :  Your ring is beautiufl!! Way to go FI!

My Fiance also designed mine and the center stone is sapphire. I’ve had people question mine too because it’s sapphire and even ask if it’s a place holder ring. Nope! It’s my engagement ring and my forever ring! I really don’t care about these comments though because any ring can be an engagement ring if it is used in a proposal for marriage. I love my ring and wouldn’t trade it for the world. I don’t want a typical e-ring. I love that it ISNT a diamond and it isn’t as common. I’ve never been much of a diamond girl and Fiance knows I love blue and I love sapphires! Here’s my blue beauty:

Many people don’t wear an engagement ring at all – just s plain wedding band. I’m sure once a band is added it will be obvious you’re married.

The rings are all gorgeous! I think it’s wonderful you all have something unique

That’s a really pretty ring, OP. Love the bezel! I wouldn’t worry about whether people can tell you are engaged, but that’s just me. The left finger isn’t just for engaged women. It’s just a ring finger, and where rings look best to many women, engaged or not. There’s no rule that you have to only wear rings on your right hand if you aren’t engaged.

If I wasn’t engaged I would still wear my rings there. I always wore a ring there before getting an ering, simply because I love jewelry.

saccarabird :  Omg I LOVE your ring, the design of the metal is gorgous, and the low setting is fantastic because it will never get caught on anything. My e-ring, though diamond, is also unique and super low set and I absolutely love it 😍. Here’s mine.

gorgeous! If I saw that on your left hand I would definitely assume engagement ring! the sapphire is so eye cathching in a wonderful way!

I have a ruby solitaire and not one person that I havn’t already told has noticed or asked if I’m engaged! I feel like the attention might be embarrassing though so it’s ok. It’s great to have something that goes against the norm =) Like others have said, you can make definitely seem more obvious engagement/wedding-y once you pair it with a band (if you plan to)

DH purchased me an OEC art deco sapphire ring as an upgrade/when the mood strikes wedding ring. I’m not sure if people look at it and think wedding ring but I really don’t care.
