Mine isn’t a traditional ring either. Ive never been a fan of diamonds and I’m a nurse so I wanted something low profile. I put gloves on a thousand times a day, didn’t want something that would snag or break the gloves! Opals have always been my favorite stone, although all these sapphires are gorgeous!

I absolutely love my ring, and like some other bees, I didn’t want a diamond, but I do feel sometimes like people don’t realize that I am engaged.  Though the more I thought about it, I realized that it’s really not about what other people think, so it doesn’t matter in the end.

Mrs-Lockness :  people are so stupid. I’m getting engaged with a peach sapphire and if anyone tries that shit with me, they’re getting an earful about how they’ve fallen for the single most successful scam ever played on the American public. Once I’m done with them, they’ll be wallowing in their ignorance πŸ™‚

saccarabird :  I used to wear a plain silver band, webb both did when we were poor students ;P and I often got comments like “oh so its just a regular silver ring” and while I felt offended I was just so happy to finally be engaged!!! πŸ™‚ I’m was quite impatient and finding “nicer” rings for us just felt like a waste of time!!!! But then I’ve always been in a hurry to marry my now husband and start our family!!!

Your ring is beautiful. Despite engagement rings being of all kinds, many (most?) people still have the image of a diamond when they think “engagment ring.” I wouldn’t automatically think you were engaged, but so what? You are! I don’t think it’s because people are stupid or weird of narrow minded. They’re just not thinking too deeply about your ring.

” And some jerks act like I’m faking being engaged yell

Wha??? That’s crazy and kinda funny. I would let this jerk believe it for my own amusement: “Yes, I am faking. Shhh, don’t tell anyone!” Damn!

I have a sapphire e-ring that I don’t wear all the time due to the nature of my work.  I plan on getting a band with no stones for my wedding ring and that’s mainly what I’ll wear, with my e-ring from time to time.  It’s not “traditional”  but it works for me.

saccarabird :  WOW that is a gorgeous ring, seriously one of the more unique and stunning ones I’ve seen (in fact I hope you don’t mind but I totally saved those images to use for inspiration for a future RHR. XD) You are lucky your man has such amazing taste! πŸ˜›

Personally I LOVE rings with coloured stones (I seriously considered getting one for my own ring) and I would definitely think it’s an engagement ring if worn on the left ring finger. But, to be honest, in real life I don’t know anyone with a coloured stone–everyone has colourless. So I can see why a lot of people question if it’s an e-ring just because they think an e-ring MUST be a diamond. (A++ for their marketing efforts, that’s for sure.) Like everyone else said, don’t let it bother you and it probably won’t be an issue after you add the wedding band. Keep showing off your ring and educating people about how an e-ring can come in all kinds of pretty colours. πŸ™‚
