Hello, does anyone have a Purple mattress? Which version do you have? How long have you had it? Pros and cons?
Hello, does anyone have a Purple mattress? Which version do you have? How long have you had it? Pros and cons?
my husband and I have the cal king from tuft and needle, the basic one, and love it.
We have a Purple 3. We’re kind of “meh” about it, honestly. Doesn’t seem to be as magical as promised, but it’s a nice mattress. We learned the sheets you put on it matter, which is kind of annoying.
We have a king sized standard purple mattress and love it. We had a horrible pillow top mattress before that was way too soft. The purple mattress is firmer than tuft and needle and Casper so that’s why we went with it. I like that we can’t feel the other one move around, and I sleep really well on it. The first night we had it a truck hit the brick entrance wall to our subdivision 3 doors down and we slept through the crash and the sirens completely.
I’m curious if anyone has had trouble with fumes (plasticy smell) wafting off the mattress? I’m considering switching over too but I heard a complaint about a purple mattress topper. I bought memory foam mattress toppers for my kids (not purple brand). They reeked at first but I aired them outside in the sun for two days and that did the trick. I don’t know if I could put an entire mattress outside like that, lol!
Thanks! Maybe I could keep the windows open and run a fan. I won’t be wanting to make it a winter purchase!
Also is anyone side sleepers that has the Purple?
My ex boyfriend had a purple mattress, and it was solidly “fine”. Nothing special, just a foam mattress. If you’ve been sleeping on a pillow top, any foam mattress will be significantly different. I sleep on my side and felt like my hips sank a tad too much compared to the rest of me.
Since there’s a money back guarantee, there’s really no risk to trying it. It will mostly depend on your firmness preferences.
Stretchy sheets that easily allow you to sink into the mattress are better. He had the purple sheets and they were significantly better than the normal cotton ones from target, at least for that style of mattress.
We didn’t buy new sheets for our mattress and haven’t had a problem at all. I’m a side sleeper and my husband sleeps on his stomach. I used to wake up with back pain but don’t anymore since we bought it.
We’re in the market for a new bed, and are also considering Purple. A friend actually said it was on the softer side, but reading the comment above I’m now unsure. We’ve had a Tuft & Needle (don’t remember which type) for 6 years, hubby loves it, I hate it & have been sleeping on an air mattress set up next to it consistently for the last 2 months. Best sleep ever (seriously, lol). I’m a side sleeper with big waist to hip difference & my shoulder/arms falls asleep plus there’s zero support for my side/back because the T&N mattress is just too hard.
Looking forward to reading more Purple users’ experiences.
