I think mine is similar! But my centre diamond doesn’t hover.

I know someone that has that ring. From what i know she has not had any issues. I have heard that alot of people have had issues with channel set diamonds. (a friend has one and has lost many diamonds)

I think you’re looking for a Bridge Setting. The diamond hovers over the band like a bridge over water….

Oh yes!! That is EXACTLY my ring!  It’s rather beautiful and sturdy.  The stones have never come loose (and that is surprising coming from me).  Mine is a .25 carat brilliant round cut hovering over 12 brilliant round cut smaller diamonds (equaling .5 carat) for a .75 carat sparkly delight!  Hubby and I purchased two 1/10 carat pave setting rings with milgrain edging to go on either side of the engagement ring.  It’s quite beautiful and elegant looking!

I haven’t recieved many compliments on my ring set (might be because it’s too small) but that’s okay, I am the one that has to look at it and I absolutely think it’s GORGEOUS.

I don’t know if you are going to be able to upgrade the diamond though(if you wanted to) because of the sweeping design.

Now you’re probably sick of me blathering on so here come the pictures! Sorry if they are somewhat blurry.  I hope this helps you decide!

@penguinbee:  My ring is exactly like that except it has 4 princess diamonds as the center stone instead of a round.  Here is a picture.  The side view is exactly like the PP.
