I’m new but I’m a long time lurker. My SO and I talked and decided to get engaged/start planning for a wedding during summer of 2017.
My small “problem” is I have no idea what kind of ring I want so I’m coming here for ideas. I already went to look at couple of jewlery stores and they kept showing pairs (engagment and wedding bands), sparkly and plain rings. I tried explaining what I want but they havent shown me anything that picked my interest.
Do anyone have only one ring? I only want one ring as engagment and wedding band. I don’t want 2 or 3 rings or upgrades. I’m just afraid that the ring I will have will look as an engagement ring by itself. I also like simple rings but not too simple, if that make sense.
I would love to see your ring!
I apologise for my grammar. English is my third language.

I honestly don’t want a wedding band. Love my ring all on its own 💍👰🏻🤵🏻❤

When asking about what type of wedding band I should get, a couple bees said they wouldn’t even get a band with my ring! Although I still will get a band, I believe it is enough in itself if that is what you like!

Excuse my nails. This is my e-ring that I told Fiance would work as well for a wedding band. Now that I have it, I kind of want another 1.5-2.5mm plain band that I can wear if I don’t want something sparkly. This is considered a RHR by the designer so maybe look into those if you can’t find something under the “E-ring” category.

If you get a band that looks more like an wedding ring (as opposed to a solitaire, say), I imagine most people will just assume that you’re married. (At least in the US/UK, not sure where you’re from.) I immediately thought of something like this:

Because of the way my e-ring is designed, I don’t like the way it looks with another band, so I’ve always just worn the one ring, even after getting married. It’s been three years and it’s never been an issue. Very rarely, people will ask about it, but people always seem to understand when I say that I just didn’t get a separate wedding band. I say go for it!

Heres mine! I have short fingers so didnt want anything too wide and also i was worried a band would cover up all the detail on the sides of my ring. Ive never had anyone ask about the lack of band.

My e-ring was designed to be by itself, but I paired it with a curved band as a set. Here it is by itself. I wear it both ways actually 🙂

How about a nice eternity band (or 3/4ths)? It’s not the “classic” engagement ring look, but it’s pretty to use alone and also looks like you’re married. 🙂
I pulled these off of google as an example:

many women I know just wear a plain band after they’ve been married awhile (often the big engagement ring gets in the way of everyday chores, or after having a baby they choose to only wear a plain band). I think it’s fine to just wear one ring if that’s what you want. I probably would go with something that looks like a wedding band with maybe one bigger centre diamond? Something like this is what I imagine… https://www.jewlr.ca/products/PRM0018/10k-rose-gold-three-stone-eternity-with-princess-accents-ring-and-cubic-zirconias-stones?shopfeed=1&s1=04CZIR&s2=04CZIR&s3=04CZIR&sku=10KR&gclid=CjwKEAiAqJjDBRCG5KK6hq_juDwSJABRm03h1_s6Ig-hOYmD0mJ2I6iIIc6OKRB6tvwOyMpTwhWOaRoCTRXw_wcB

I wear just a single ring – I prefered the look of my e-ring on it’s own, and felt that pairing it with a band actually took away from it’s detail.

I just want to say that I love this! It kind of looks like you have a band on each side already…cool! 🙂

I just have an engagement ring, which will be my ‘wedding band’. I don’t wear it now, as my FH said if he has to wait for his one ring, then so should I (I only got it a month ago and the wedding is next Saturday… so it’s not like it’s been here in a box for months!). I kind of liked that idea, so I went with it.
It’s ‘just’ and engagement ring though. I didn’t go out and tell the jewellers that I wanted one ring, I just looked at engagement rings, not sets, and I really like the look of it by itself. I don’t wear any jewellery on my hands normally (years of biting my nails- until I met FH actually!) has me self conscious about my hands…
There’s another thread somewhere about people who only have one band, and that definitely reassured me that I wasn’t as abnormal as I thought I was!

I wanted to wear a blingy band with my ring but in the end found wearing more then one ring annoying as hell. So I just wear my solitaire 99% of the time alone. I still will play and wear my cheap CZ bands sometimes but prefer it alone as it is most comfortable.

I’d go for an eternity band style in that case
