@Miss Banana I make corn muffins just so I can sneak some of the batter. LOL

When I go home (Chicago) I order soup and pancakes. It is the ultimate comfort food.

I also love the eat cereal straight out of the box with no milk. The best is Frosted Flakes. Fiance doesn’t understand any of these. LOL

@mrsjkh2be: when I was little I use to eat rice like that too. I think I got that from my uncle since he use to eat it like that all the time. And I love tuna with pickles doesn’t even need to be tuna salad. Just tuna and pickles will do.

I don’t think I have any strange comfort foods right now that I know of but who knows. Because lately I haven’t been eating the way I use to. I guess moving just kills the appetite.

vicarswifeintraining When I saw “red sauce” I thought you meant like marinara sauce, and I thought “what’s wrong with that – it’s like a little half-assed pizza!” because I do that all the time with leftover marinara sauce ๐Ÿ™‚

Mine is boxed Kraft Mac and Cheese with ketchup.  Everyone thinks it’s nasty but I looooove it!  It takes me back to being 6 years old again.  The mac and cheese has to be the kind with the pouch of cheese sauce, not the powdered cheese stuff, though.  I mean, a girl’s got to have some standards.

A had a vegetarian friend who always made this one sandwich at barbeques, since most times there aren’t a lot of vegitarian options.  He’d take a hamburger bun and add mustard, raw onions, lettuce, nacho doritos or cheetos … and a brownie.  Swore up and down it was fantastic, but the whole brownie/onion combo weirded me out too much to ever try it.

Mac N Cheese with BBQ sauce!!! mmm!!

@vicarswifeintraing the girls are talkng about chips and frostys which is alctually not icing (although I’ve had that too and no joke it’s CRAZY good) it’s more like chips and chocolate ice cream but the flavor is a little different I can’t remember if you have chocolate malted shakes out there but that’s the closest taste wise. It’s really tasty as is chocolate covered crisps and don’t get me started on chocolate covered pretzels!

In college, my strange food likes were lentils straight out of the can and…don’t judge…Spaghetti O’s with a scoop of peanut butter!  Haha, that brings back some memories ๐Ÿ™‚

It started like this – I loved Goldfish in Spaghetti O’s.  One day, I didn’t have any, but I had those orange peanut butter cracker things, so I used those.  Then, I didn’t have either, so I just plopped a scoop of PB in there & YUM! I was hooked ๐Ÿ™‚  I probably haven’t had Spaghetti O’s since my early college years though!

I love to take a teaspoon, scoop some peanut butter out of the jar and put raisens on top of the pb. Yum! Everyone who has ever seen me do this thinks it’s weird. I think it so yummy!

@ms Bananna I HATE to be the one to tell you this but Jiffy mixes are NOT vegetarian. They have lard in them! I have been a vegetarian for 10 years and i found that out about 3 months ago. I was so mad! SORRY!!!

I love avocados. I just cut them open and eat them with a spoon. Oh man, I could eat six of them in one sitting if it wasn’t for all the fat!

I love Actavite in milk, I don’t know anyone else who drinks it (and only Aussies are likely to know what I’m talking about!), my family jokes that I am single handedly keeping the Actavite company in business. It’s best combined with crackers (only particular kinds though – Vita Weats or Saos) and Vegemite, while watching bad TV. So hard to stop eating it, which might explain why I don’t keep crackers in the house. To me comfort food is about wheat and salt, preferably in pasta-and-cheese form, but toast and peanut butter come close. I love reading everyone’s little quirks, especially the fact that most of us feel the need to indulge when we are alone rather than show anyone else what we’re doing ๐Ÿ™‚

Marmite on hot buttery whole grain toast!  As an American, NOBODY understands this. The British do, the Australians do (to a certain extent), but if an American even knows what Marmite is, they think it’s that potent brown gunk they want nowhere near their food.  I just loooooove it.

Unsurprisingly, if you’re familiar with the taste of Marmite, something else people find weird about my food habits is that Soy sauce/Tamari has ALWAYS been my go-to condiment.  I put it on everything and always have since I was an itsy bitsy child.  Yum.  Just love it.

Fruitcake with wensleydale cheese! We’re even having a wensleydale brought down for our wedding! Cake and cheese is pretty normal in Yorkshire but you get fairly odd looks everywhere else!!

My other weird one is stem ginger in syrup straight out of the jar on a fork!! Juuussstt so tasty!

Totally with you on the red/brown sauce vicarswifeintraining- my Fiance puts brown sauce on literally everything, he got into the habit when he was in basics for the marines and the food was so bad but now even if the food is good, out comes the brown sauce!
