Colored lightbulbs! There was a post on here a few months ago. Sorry I couldn’t find it you might try to search it out. There were a ton of great ideas.

I dont understand what uplighting has to do with your dj? Isn’t it a seperate vendor? or do you mean you dont have room in the budget. My uplighting is a seperate vendor from my dj…

I rented some from a party rental place for about $30 a piece including the color gel. It wasn’t LED but I really wanted uplighting and it was the cheapest route. I think it completely transformed my reception. If you go that route just be aware that uplights that aren’t LED can get hot, so you would have to put them where guests won’t be. I put them behind my headtable and I think it looked really nice. I used Amber colored gels. Sorry if the pic is huge. It’s kinda blurry because it is one someone just snapped really quick, but you can see one of the uplights behind the tables 🙂
