Yep – this one is legendary!  I sometimes like using blue cheese crumbles in it too… and have used chicken thighs instead of breasts… you can also do it in a crockpot – sometimes if it cools down the cheese all clumps together.

This is the one I make…

I use ranch since I’m not a fan of blue cheese but it sooooo good! We usually dip bread cubes in it.

Now, I’m hungry!

ETA: Sorry, I updated the link because the original one wouldnt have worked. Hopefully this does but if not, just google “Franks Red Hot Buffalo Wing Recipe”.

If you’re lazy like me, you can buy the cans of shredded chicken that are by the tuna at the grocery store.  I’m kind of impatient.  I usually just dump a can or two of the chicken in with an 8 oz block of cream cheese, about a half bottle of ranch or blue cheese dressing and anywhere from a half to a full bottle of Franks depending on how spicy guests like it.  It’s definitely not an exact science when I make it.  I also usually just toss everything in my little 2 quart crock pot to keep it warm and serve it with tortilla chips and celery sticks….mmmm

Try replacing half (or all!) of the cream cheese with blocks of silken tofu! The texture is pretty close and it will still have that tangy Buffalo flavor! The tofu has less calories and half the fat of the cream cheese. ๐Ÿ™‚

@oracle: That sounds SO great. I had no intentions of making any sort of dip anytime soon, but I will HAVE to try that asap!

@TuckersGirl: yes, I’ve heard the canned chicken is just as good.  The chicken is all covered with the Frank’s sauce – so it doesn’t ‘really’ matter.  I just can’t ever bring myself to using canned, when it’s so easy to boil and shred ‘real’ chicken… one of these days, though ๐Ÿ˜‰

@Gerbera: Franks is the only one I’ve had but its so freakin good that I dont even look for other recipes.

@TuckersGirl: The first few times I made it, I used actual chicken breasts which was kind of a pain in the ass. Every time since I’ve used the canned stuff and I cant tell the difference. Actually, the Franks recipe call for the canned stuff. I guess they realize people are lazy!
