I ordered the Aurelie dress in ivory and it should be here in March. If anyone else has it, what kind of bustle did you do and do you have pictures? I want to do a french bustle but because the back of the dress is already so elaborate Im wondering how a bustle will look. One store told me the french bustle would have 20-30 points!

Does anyone else have experience with bustling this gorgeous dress?

I recently went shopping for like the 5th time for my wedding dress and feel in love with the Aurielie. Unfortunately it is out of my budget. Would you be willing to sell yours? What color is it?

I am pretty sure the wedding I went to last weeked the bride was wearing Aurielle. which I posted in my "CRAZY bridemaids dresses’ post (I dont know how to link posts…)
I will search from some pictures tonight of that wedding with behind pics of the dress to see how she bustled it, IF it is the same dress….but I am pretty sure…I did a side by side compairson.
And if you dont mind me asking…the Aurielle was beautiful, how much did you end on spending for it? I saw it but didnt get the price when I was looking with a friend for hers

I got the ivory one, I did figure out the bustle. It is a french bustle and you can still see the draping, I think it ended up being 11 points. Heres a picture of it from the back with the bustle and without.
I got the dress during a trunk show so it was 10% off. After tax, it was $1212. The alterations I only needed the bustle put in and a very little hemmed on the side which was only $200.
It does look the dress your other post, except her train looks alot longer and looks like she put some rouching toward the bottom of it but it might just be the camera angle. I got mine without the cap sleeves.
@speedy02mhs – I know I will never ever wear the dress again but as of right now I dont think I will be selling it. Sorry 🙁

I just joined the Wedding Bee after googling this question. I just took my Aurelie gown to be altered and the seamstress didn’t feel comfortable doing the bustle.
Naangel55, I think yours looks very good. I don’t even know what to ask, but do you have any more specific advice other than 11 points? Again, I don’t know anything about sewing, 11 points may be enough for the seamstress, but do you have any instructions I can take back to her?
I’ve already contacted the store where I bought the dress, and they contacted Maggie Sottero, but the best anyone could give me was "It can be done, I promise."

I answered this to Go Noles via PM but thought I would put it up here in case anyone else was wondering:
Unfortunately Im not sure of the directions of how the seamstress did the dress – mine was the first bustle she had done on Aurelie. I do know that her points pretty much followed the structure of the dress, how it drapes in the back. It started up high on the right (viewing from the back) and made its way lower to the left. I can try and take some pictures under the dress of the bustles after the wedding and post them so if other brides that have Aurelie are getting married later in the year, in the same situation as Go Noles, they can take the pics to their seamstress.
