I have the Fitbit One (http://www.fitbit.com/one).  Fitbit also makes a wrist band like the Nike Fuel Band (http://www.fitbit.com/flex), but it hasn’t been released yet.

I LOVE my Fitbit.  I have nothing but good things to say about it.  I’ve been wearing it since July of last year, and it’s really been helpful for me.  It’s all well and good to think to myself “it’s nice out, I think I’m going to go for a walk”, but when I have a little device that tracks my steps and I’m close to hitting my goal for the day, you bet I’m going to get my butt outside and go for a walk.  The same goes for taking the stairs instead of the elevator/escalator.  It really provides a huge boost of motivation to meet your goals.

I also use MyFitnessPal to track my calories, and I have it synced with my Fitbit account.  To lose weight at a nice easy pace, I know that I need to eat ~1600 calories on days I sit on my butt.  If I’m really active, though, like going to the gym or hiking, my Fitbit will add more calories to my allowance to make up for it.  Once I hit my goal weight and move into maintenance, I’ll use my Fitbit to figure out how much to eat since it provides a pretty accurate estimate of how many calories I burn every day.

That’s my basic spiel, but if you have any specific questions, I’m happy to help!

I purchased fitbit’s scale (Aria) a couple months ago and when the Flex was released I bought one and I have been loving it.  It definitely motivates me to do more through out the day.  I love that everything is plotted out on graphs for me to review.  The food tracker database could use some improvement, but I usually can find something close to the meal I ate to add.  I just wish more of my friends had an account because when you log in it’ll show your friends and the # of of steps their up to this week.  I only have 2, so my competition isn’t too steep. Hoping this helps me get in shape for the wedding!
