You can get tablecloths in many different fabrics, but I think the poly ones are pretty standard for the basics. Of course you can get cheap poly and heavier weight, which is what most caterers and wedding venues use. Some are satin, taffeta, organza…depends on the look you like. Most aren’t in cotton, and I think more because they wrinkle too easily.

I bought pintuck to use, but honestly…they aren’t that easy to resell, especially the larger ones because of the shipping weight. If you can find a buyer locally, it would be much easier to do.

@gelaine22:  I bought polyester table clothes for my wedding, and they definitely do not look cheap! They look and feel so beautiful. I’ll try to take a picture of them so you can see 🙂 They are nice and heavy/thick too!

We made our own tablecloths, the black ones. Honestly I have no idea what the material was. We just went to a Bridal Swap and one person had an extra large roll of Black  fabric for $15 so we bought it. And then I bought 5 round Ivory ones from a previous Bride off craigslist. To cover the rest of the tables we went to Turkey’s a local party supply store and bought more 82″ round tablecloths called “Better than Linen” as suggested by another a post I saw somewhere. They are a very cheap alternative and disposable. Pictured here they are the ones that are shorter in length. You can’t tell the difference in the photos and no one said anything at our wedding, it all looked beautiful e

I bought from linentablecloth.com 🙂 They just happened to have a good sale + free shipping one weekend, and I took advantage of it. I only bought 7 table clothes, but they were all the exact same color – I had read reviews on other sites where some people ended up with variations in color.

I definitely plan to buy from linentablecloth.com again 🙂 I bought these ones: http://www.linentablecloth.com/tablecloths/round-tablecloths/120-inch-round-polyester-tablecloth-eggplant.html

I don’t have pictures on my phone but I got table clothes and overlay from linentablecloth too and they looked great. They were polyester and looked like just regular table clothes to me.

We chose to rent white pintuck linen.  Our venue had short polyester linen free of charge.  I splurged for the pintuck linen as we wanted floor length.  I liked the texture and it was only a few dollars more per table over the floor length poly linen.

However we did use the polyester napkins that was included with the venue.

We used floor-length beige poly tablecloths at our wedding and I think they looked quite alright.

Heavy, slightly textured poly and poly-blends do not look “cheap” at all if they’re pressed and laid out nicely!

We just used the standard tablecloth that came with our venue….I really don’t think too many people notice to be honest and doubt anyone would think they are cheap. Our table was one very long banquet table but I did add my own long fuschia table runner down the center to dress it up a bit
