i would have never ever thought to use novena candles – such a good idea!  (not gonna lie, im likely going to steal it)

how about wrapping them like ms. paisley in her post earlier today – i love the look of the eyelet lace, but im sure you could go with any other type of fabric or lace – im thinking of using a navy lace so that it glows a little blue with the candle

i think ms. paisley said that she just used a basic glue stick and rolled the material on – the link is here:  http://www.weddingbee.com/2010/03/15/lace-covered-candles-and-warm-wollen-mittens/

Oh!  I found heating the stickers with a blow dryer works wonders!!  Try that or even a iron … just place a thin towle over the sticker then press the area.

As for covering, I think scrapbooking paper is a great idea!  You can cover the seams with ribbon or pearls or flowers… all kinds of options.  I love the look of lace over them as well.  You can print a monogram or image on vellum paper which would be beautiful as well.  It will give the glass a frosted look and still offer a soft glow.

Can’t wait to see what you do!!

I wish I would’ve seen this post sooner! I’m in KS too and am using religious candles for tons of stuff! I sell luminaries in my etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=43834877 and I used those candles to make my memorial candles: http://soontobemrsf.blogspot.com/2009/08/in-loving-memory.html

I’ve gotta check my Target to see if they still have any! Which section did you find them in?
