@Linds808: A place like JoAnn fabrics might have a material with a similar texture.  If you’re really handy, you could add a few stiches here and there!  They are really cute!  Are you making them for yourself or your bidesmaids?

Just place some batting underneath the fabric before attaching it on to the box itself. That will create the puffy effect and I would try to find a fabric similar to one pictured if you like the pick-up detailing.

What I would do is go to a fabric store and get some batting (the quilt liner fabric) as thick as you like it and put a layer under the fabric you want on top- then attach both layers to a piece of cardboard and to get the puffy texture take a sturdy hand sewing needle (like a chenille needle!) and starting from the bottom make a few stitches up through the cardboard->batting->satin then back down and tie it off on the underside.  It will cause a little dimple in your satin and make that nice fluffy texture.  If you wanted to get super festive you could even put a little bead or crystal in each dimple- but that might just be over the top!
