hotchildinthecity has talked about this a few times.  Her bridesmaid dresses were their watermelon.  She just got married Saturday though, so I don’t think she is around this week.

From what I remember, it’s not fuschia.  Fuschia is a bit more purple, the watermelon dresses are a pinky red.  If you have a david’s close by, pop in.  You can pick up a catalog and bring it with you.  Plus you can look at the color and see what you think.  They will have TONS of things in that color, it’s very popular right now.

I have a BM in David’s Bridal’s watermelon and it’s very pink. I’m not sure how much fuschia varies, but I’d say watermelon would be pretty close. Ella1978 is right that watermelon is a bit less blue than fuschia, but it’s a very bright and moderately deep pink.

I wore a DB BM dress in watermelon once, and it was really saturated, bright, almost hot pink.  I’m not sure what you think of when you think of fuchsia, but I always picture something with more purple undertones.  The watermelon really can’t be called anything other than pink.

Here is a pic of my bridesmaids, and they wore watermelon, and it looks hot pink/fuscia to me!

I would say the best way to describe it would be “hot pink”.  Like the other ladies said, fuscia has some purple undertones.  This does not.

Yes it is. It’s another one of those “let’s pick a creative name to confuse everyone but the shade is identical to everything else”. Fuschia and hot pink are the same thing, just different names for the same color.

My stepmother picked this color for her wedding and it is definitely the same as fuschia/hot pink/(fill in the blank color name).

I went to David’s Bridal looking for a fuchsia.  The closest I could get was Watermelon, so that is what I am using for my Bridesmaid’s.  The other pink color they had that I was trying to decide between was called Azalea.  This was back in November, and I think they have a new pink now that wasn’t available then…But I don’t think it’s any more fuchsia than the Watermelon is.

Here is a picture of my sister modeling both the Watermelon and Azalea on top of each other:

Azalea is the sash on top and Watermelon is the sash on the bottom.

I thought the Azalea looked too purple…And that the Watermelon looked more hot pink.

I hope this helps!!
