Hi all, We have this fabulous store in my area that has simulated rings and diamonds in cases that you can go around and try on without a sales rep bothering you. It’s awesome. Anyone, I found a ring that fits all of what I’m looking for and the diamond size was perfect. I’m thinking about buying my ring online but I would like to get a diamond around the same size as the one I tried on. Based on these pictures can anyone guess what size it might be? The first pictures makes it look huge, I do remember it being on the big size but not huge. Also, sorry so blurry, took with my phone. Thanks!

It’s hard to say without seeing it on your finger and knowing your ring size.

I agree with BoiledPnut… I looks like it might be 1ct-1.5ct but it is hard to know exactly. Also, it looks like it might be shaped like a princess or radiant which have different surface areas. It might be best to go back and ask them what size the stone is across the top.

Could you ask the people at the store how many mm wide the stone is? Or measure it?
For simulated square brilliant stones:
5.0mm is approx .82ct
5.5mm is approx 1.05ct
My guess is it is around 1.0ct.

I’d say it’s a 1-1.25ct, but like PPs said, it’s pretty much impossible to tell without seeing it on your finger!

Just taking a wild guess, 1.25 carats? I agree about going back to the store to measure it. You can also buy loose CZs really cheap (like a buck apiece) in different sizes to get an idea of the size you want for your ring.

Does’t the tag say 1/8 carot weight, or am I reading it wrong?

@tksjewelry:I was going to say the same thing, but I think that might be the tcw of the side stones??? IDK

There’s no way it’s 1/8 of a carat, it has to be the side stones I’m thinking.

@missfroggy: ctw should be all the stones, your right. So I would guess .1 or .09 of a carot.
Edit: I just checked diamond prices and I bet that is a 3 and a third of a carot better fits with the price range.

Oh I was just going to post about the CTW on the tag. I got beaten to the punch!

The price and carat weight on the tag apply to the setting only.

It honestly looks about the size of my ring which is 0.8 carats. It’s looks between .75-1; but again it’s hard to tell unless it’s on your finger and we know your ring size. There’s no way I see the center stone 1.25 carats.

@MissGreen: I think this is probably very accurate

Thanks ladies. We were planning on going back to the store, but I wanted to come prepared with my online research first. Yes, the 1/8 is only for the band.
