I love jewelry making! I haven’t sold anything…I do it for fun and I make Christmas ornaments for everyone every year. I wouldn’t say it’s super expensive, unless you’re like me and get addicted to the pretty shiny things and collect way more beads than you will ever make anything with. 🙂

But, I can no longer buy costume jewelry in the stores because I think “I can make that in 10 minutes for way cheaper.” Take the class…if nothing else you’ll have fun and see if you like it.

I use to make jewelry, I didn’t think it was a very expensive hobby. You can work your way up with tools and supplies, you can start very simple. But I wouldn’t bank on being able to sell your jewelry right away to make a profit. I never made it to sell, but one of friends does and she makes some money doing it but she has an ideal selling location……… her hair salon.

My sister does it. It is expensive, but usually you can stock up when places like Jo Ann’s has a sale. She started a shop on Etsy and hasn’t actually sold anything, even though I think her stuff is really good! I think how easily you’ll be able to sell depends on how aggressively you’ll market. I bet if you put an ad up on Facebook or somehow got the word out, your stuff would sell. Just don’t let it get lost in Etsy land since there are so many different shops, it’s unlikely someone will just happen across yours.

I used to bead.  Just making simple earings/keychains/etc with beads.  Its a good easy way to start.

I loved being able to make a pair of earings to perfectly match an outfit for only a couple of bucks.

I used to make jewelry but haven’t in awhile.  I love doing it and find it theraputic and relaxing!  It CAN get expensive if you let it.  There are some amazing beads and findings (clasps, ear wires) out there that are expensive and delicious but you don’t have to use them.  Your jewelry can be as expensive or as inexpensive as you want it to be.

Enjoy the class!  It can be very, very addicting!!!

A friend of mine made awesome jewelry, but had to give up trying to start a business because there are so many other “out-of-the-house” sellers out there.
