I know my mom gets some stuff from Aldi’s. They have good prices but not everything is quality. Usually I see her with some of their “Fit & Active” products.

We have shopped there occasionaly when we are broke. I usually won’t buy veggies or fresh meat but anything else is fine. Great prices!

We don’t have one in our area.  But I’d shop there if there was one around.  We shop at Save-A-Lot quite often.

Theres one by my job that a co-worker of mine swears by. Like a PP said, skip the produce and meats there but everything else is great prices. Fi and I dont shop there because its too far from home to be worth it..

@VossinatorsButterfly:  No where even remotely close to TJ.  Aldi is mostly generic versions of brand names for cheaper priced

Ew, I went there once in college and the food was inedible.  I bought some frozen pizzas that tasted like the dough was just frozen white bread that was smashed thin.

I hope that this post will not be flagged by any Aldi frozen pizza lovers as being offensive.

No, its more like a discount grocery type of place. Its good for canned goods and nonperishables, but I wouldnt go there for fresh meat or produce. Theyre not really going to have any specialty foods like Trader Joes has. If you do decide to go, bring your own bags because they do charge for plastic.

I just learned today that Aldi’s actually owns Trader Joe’s.  I know this doesn’t help, it’s just a fun fact.

@VossinatorsButterfly:  Because Trader Joe’s is meant to be a health food store, Aldi’s is meant to be a discount store.  Just because they are owned by the same people doesn’t mean they should carry the same products.

I shop at Aldi’s regular…it’s a German owned supermarket….the quality of there food is good and the price is good too…. With the comment about it being dirty…suppose all stores are different and who is managing it but my store is clean and well stocked! x

I shop at Aldis! Their “Fruit Rounds” cereal is wayyyyy better than Fruit Loops! lol seriously though…they do have some good stuff. They have a box of fried chicken that is the best fried chicken ever. You bake it and the outside gets super crunchy. Hmmmm maybe I’ll have some for dinner tonight! I like shopping there when I get sick of the same crap from Walmart or Kroger.
