Why the designers of many wedding dresses have their models scowling all of the time and are okay with some of them look completely emaciated?
Honestly, I want to be happy and healthy the day of my wedding with a glow and a smile. If I was marketing wedding dresses I would have them smile with a skip in their step. It doesn’t make sense to me

I know right! They look SO unhappy! Where are the smiley brides that are actually excited to be getting married!

Lol, I’ve often wondered this too! I’m not sure how it sells a dress to have a model that looks like she’s totally pissed about something… Maybe they know that there’s no way to artificially create that happy bride glow, so they go completely in the other direction?

I haven’t noticed that except with runway shows with the “high end” fashion models. It’s considered fashionable to do so. The regular wedding dress models are nearly always smiling that I have noticed.
The thing that makes no sense to me is that you never see what a dress actually looks like because the models are in weird positions so you can only see a portion of the dress. This is completely independant from the fact that the dress will look worlds different on a real person as opposed to a toothpick model.

They are scowling because they are models and they aren’t allowed to eat
ETA: I hate that they do all those awk editorial poses – it’s like, hi I’m trying to look at THE DRESS not your stupid scowly face and emaciated arms blocking the entire thing to contort into some “arty” pose. So stupid.

@kittyachi – i hate that too, I also hate it when they are sitting or only show it from the back. I want to see the front and the back while standing. I wish the designers or photographers whichever, would quit all the artsy adds. And why would they photograph a white dress with a white background? Really!?Seriously!?

Here is my own version of the Scowly-Hunchback-Wedding-Dress-Model-Skinny-Arm-Pose:
Can you tell I was getting sort of punchy in the heat? 🙂
