No but I would like to try one.  I want a treadmill desk too!

I have and they are really nice!  It makes me more comfortable and less lazy when I sit.

Just make sure you get a really large one because you will depress it when you sit on it.

Our ergonomics specialists at work are adamently against the ball, actually. I can’t remember exactly why, but they said the lumbar support that’s missing is really important, and that the concentration needed to remain balanced meant injuries happen more easily. If only there could be a ball-chair back combo!

My Fiance and I were just talking about this last night!  I slouch over really badly and my neck and shoulders always hurt, so he suggested getting an exercise ball.  I thought it would be sweet to have a stand-up or treadmill desk, but that is way more expensive and difficult.  I’m not sure I will go with a ball, though, or just a better chair (the horrible chair I’ve been sitting in for 2 years really should have been trashed ages ago.  It jiggles, squeaks, and just generally sucks…)

    I voted “Other”

Due to a total breakdown in authority and a complete lack of maturity, exercise ball chairs were banned from the office under penalty of death shortly after an ill planned race down the stairwell  resulted in a broken water cooler, three soaked files, one pissed of receptionist and a black eye….oops.

I use a ball chair at work and absolutely love it! Our entire administrative office purchased them and everyone seems happy so far.  We actually bought the chair you posted a picture of. They ball does lose air over time, but ours came with a pump so we can inflate it again when we need to.

i had one and after awhile, i really hated it. it wasn’t comfortable at all. someone in my office had the chair in that pic but she ended up having other issues so the chair wasn’t the answer. a lot of us tried the chair but nobody ever kept it for long.

@Birdee106:  The first few weeks, yes, there were days when I wanted my normal chair back.   I noticed my back was sore at first, but that’s becuase muscles those hadn’t been used for so long were now engaged and tired! It took about 2 weeks for my body to adjust. I actually had to sit in my old chair last week becuase someone wanted to try out my ball chair for the day and I really missed my ball chair.  So, to answer your question, I don’t really wish I had a normal chair to sit in anymore. 🙂

I also work at my desk all day long and notice my lower back feels a lot better since switching to the ball chair.

Yes! It’s probably the best investment I’ve ever made, and I will preach praises about it to anyone who will listen!
