There are a lot of threads on here about really super blingy rings (which are awesome!!!), but I was just wondering if there are other people like me who just wear a plain wedding band and love it! 🙂 My ring story is a little complicated, I had a really beautiful solitaire engagement ring and unfortunately it along with my wedding band was lost… that was a sad, sad day! I didn’t wear anything for a long time, but I recently was given my mother in law’s wedding set to wear – which was an extremely kind and incredible gesture, and the rings mean a lot to me because she was such a special person and an amazing woman. I only wear the band, which is white gold and thicker than I would have chosen for myself… it’s probably a 5 mm I think. I also have the diamond ring that was hers, a small solitaire on a very thin band but I work with animals, and I work with my hands a lot, so I’ve just been wearing that and I have to say the look of just a plain band is definitely growing on me! I don’t see a lot of it on here though… any ladies with me? 🙂

Your set sounds beautiful – Please, do post photos! I love a plain band and when I see one I think MARRIED. 🙂

I would wear a Cartier love ring in a hot second. I saw a woman at Whole Foods wearing one as a wedding band and I loooved it.

Thanks!! 🙂 I agree, I think plain bands just scream married haha!
This is the band by itself (what I wear one hundred percent of the time)….please excuse that awful bandaid 😕
This is the set together!! I haven’t had the engagement ring resized yet, but hopefully soon. 🙂

- Wedding: April 2016 - Gorse Hill, Surrey, UK
This will be my set but the plain band will be in yellow gold. It should be arriving this week! I may only wear the diamond band some of the time but the plain one will be my forever band. I have an E ring also which I love, but just prefer low profile rings

Splodge2003: That looks lovely together!! Yellow gold with the diamond band will be so pretty, too!

My engagement ring is a 5-stone white gold eternity ring with rubies and , because that’s what I wanted (not interested in solitaire rings); my wedding band is a cheap plain yellow gold band, because I believe it’s just a symbol and I’m not trying to impress anyone – I want something I can do gardening in and lay a patio and not worry about – I think it’s important my ring matches my husband’s and we can easily buy replacements if necessary. 🙂

I wear just a plain white gold band (that matches my husband’s) most of the time. My e-ring is high set and it doesn’t work for me to wear it on a daily basis.

Mrs.KateG: It’s beautiful! I’ve said it before And I’ll say it again, plain gold bands (especially wide ones) are classic and classy! Sorry about your lost set, but your band is perfect!

I have a plain wedding band and I love it. My husband wanted us to have “matching” rings, which meant having a plain one. However, here in England it is more common to have plain bands than blingy ones.
We have got white gold bands – my husband’s is thicker but when you put my engagement ring and wedding band together they are roughly the same, which is what he wanted 🙂

This is me 100% of the time!
My mom also wears a plain gold band, no engagement ring at all. Shes done this for as long as I’ve been alive.

I wear a plain band quite bit. My orignal wedding band is a diamond eternity. I am a NICU nurse and I also teach nurisng clinical. With all the handwashing and santinizer and hands on, especially with moms and baibes, I usually only wear my plain tungsten band that matches my husband’s work band. I specifically got one that looked nice on it’s own…it’s about 4mm. It is so comfortable and easy to wear.

MouthOfTheSouth: Agreed on the Cartier! I have a Love Bracelet and I adore it.
Mrs.KateG: I have a plain band in my original wedding set. I wear it occasionally when I’m playing tennis or hiking or something active like that and don’t want to damage any stones. The 2nd pic you posted of the thick band and thin solitaire is exactly what my coworker wears. I used to find it slightly odd looking – much thicker wedding band that is slightly more masculine looking – but the look is growing on me.

I just bought a plain 3mm white gold comfort fit wedding band. I can’t wait to get it! I really just love the look of a plain band!
