When I bought my dress- I had a corset on, which made it look amazing. I tried the dress on this week, and it looked AWFUL without the corset. I know I need to lose at least 20 lbs BUT it looks awful and I really can’t imagine wearing it at all.
I’m pretty sure a corset will squish everything back to where I *wish* it was and it’ll look alot better.
Does anyone go without a corset, shaper thing, or a bra, etc? I’m going to start despising my dress, I know it. I really don’t want to wear all that crap!

Well, it’s like how you wear your shoes when you get your dress hemmed… if you wore the corset when you bought it and they measured you, it’s not going to fit you right without the corset. I would suggest either going back to the store and trying stuff on without the undergarments (though they’ll definetly try to talk you into it), or losing some weight so that your body will fit into the dress without the help of the corset… or just wear it! I know it’s not quite the same, but I remember not wearing a corset / merry widow / strapless bra with my strapless prom dress because there was boning in the bodice and it held everything in without a need for it. But, again, when I tried on the dress in the store – that was how I tried it and picked the one that fit me.

Well, my dress had a LOT of boning in the bodice, so I couldn’t have worn a corset under it and it did a good job of standing up on it’s own. I had bra cups sewn in, and just wore victorias secret lineless undies.

I got a longline bustier for my dress, but after accidental pre-wedding weight loss and with the corset back on my dress, I elected to go without… It was way more comfortable and I felt a lot less claustrophobic.

I bought a longline bra that looks pretty decent, but I’m probably just going to end up having cups sewn in and wear some spanx depending on how tight the fit is (not quite enough room for a corset in the dress!). I can’t imagine there are a lot of people who go totally commando under their dresses; they tend not to be terribly forgiving. 🙂

My dress had boning in the top and built in cups so I didn’t wear anything on top. I wish I could have had a boost for my bust but the back of my dress was way too low to wear any corset and the sticky bras get to gross and fall off on me so they weren’t an option.

I LOVE love LOVE my corset, long-line bra. It makes me look super sexy. And trying on things, I could squeeze into a dress two sizes smaller for fittings to see what the dress looked like. I would recommend a long line bra and spanx to every bride. You can always take a sexy shower at the end of the night.

So WHAT should I wear under my dress LOL. I’ve posted a picture but I honestly have no idea. I was thinking of some sort of thing that makes me look slimmer…?
When I tried on the dress, I was just wearing a strapless bra.
Once the dress comes in, I’m going to be adding straps…

You could probably wear a low back corset with that dress Sunshine. As long as it goes below the first few lines of lacing no one will be able to see it.

I NEED to get a bustier to wear under my dress. Apart from the fact that my puppies are a bit too hard to manage without some seriously good support I just know I’ll feel more comfortable in the dress in it.

I am planning on having cups sewn into my dress, and I don’t anticipate wearing anything else (on the top, that is!). However, I am not that well-endowed…so I don’t really need the support at all!

I am totally wearing a body shaper and corset under my dress! Not taking any chances of bulging.

My dress had some boning so I didn’t wear anything on top (didn’t even have cups sewn in, but didn’t need them because the bustline was covered with flowers).

I plan to wear shapewear, especially since it will keep things in place, something light though.
