Mori Lee tends to leave quite a bit of room on their gowns to be let out- usually I think its about 1/2 inch on each side at least! I’m not sure with the rouching on the sides how hard/expensive it would be to let out, but I am sure an experienced seamstress will be able to.

I would trust her as they know the dresses etc. I’m a UK12 but in jeans have to buy UK14. So when I got measured for my dress i’m a 10 at top, 12 waist and a 14 bum. The shop manager actually made the decision to order a 14 dress as she said it’s easier to take in than out.

Most wedding gowns have quite a bit of seam allowance. I would do as they told you. I let my gown out an inch in the bust, and it was no big deal. Half an inch is nothing! (but it is enough that it will make you much more comfortable, so definitely let it out if you are the same size when it comes in!)
