This may be a silly post, but I’d like to hear from some of you anyway.
I’ve been paranoid about gaining weight with birth control (it hasn’t happened yet, but I’m terrified it will before the wedding), but whenever I say something to Fiance about it, he keeps saying that he’d be totally fine with a little extra “meat” on me. I’m 6’0/6’1 and 140, so I’m naturally on the small-framed side, but I’m afraid of gaining weight because I feel like I’m already imposing enough vertically… the last thing I want is to be horizontally imposing as well, especially since he and I are the same height and he’s already a tad thinner than I am.
My question is, does he really mean it when he says he wouldn’t mind if I put on a little extra weight, or is he just being a really nice Fiance who doesn’t want to pressure me into chasing perfection? I feel like I can’t really believe him since he’s not exactly unbiased. Thoughts?

He really means it.
It’s hard because the “ideal” look that magazines show us is sooo thin. I constantly wish I were thinner. But most men like a little meat to snuggle up to, grab and touch. And love helps! My Fiance has a bit of a belly – more so than when I first met him. But I still think he’s super sexy!!

He’s telling the truth! And at 140 and 6′, you are a rail! You could easily gain 20 lbs and still look good. 🙂

Pure honesty! and I really doubt you will gain any “real” weight or fat with the pills! 5 pound water weight is nothing for pms and goes away quick!

He means it, I think. Look, I’m 145 and 5’10”– and my older sister is 6’1″ and has gone anywhere from 134 to 165 (and still looked great, I’ll add), so I’m very familiar with that whole range of size. For one, when us tall gals gain 5 lbs, it is very hard to tell. And as for perfection, well. I have no doubt that he loves your body just the way it is, but a lot of guys do legitimately enjoy it when we get a little more “meat on our bones”. (Remember, sometimes that translates to curves!) I wouldn’t worry too much about it if I were you.

Thanks, girls–I feel a little better now. It’s just hard to believe sometimes when we’re so bombarded with the size 0 ideal all the time! Wonder why it s that women are meant to be so skinny when it seems like guys like more curves…
