It definitely fluctuates for me.  I feel like being on the Bee and seeing everyonee’s rings and proposal stories gets me more fired up lol.  i actully took a break for a few months because i was gonna freak out.

but when i feel like i’m losing my cool, i try to calm down by saying a little mantra “we love each other, we’re happy, we’re together – cherish that”.  it helps.

@MariaW:  yes, it goes in cycles… except that the cycles where i am ok with it only last about 15 seconds! LOL

It’s always rainbows and puppies and kittens for me right now.  If he doesn’t pop the question by next may I might join you in the whole… blarrghhh WHYSIRISAACNEWTONWHY?! bit.  But that’s still half a year away so hopefully I won’t ever have to get to that point.  *crosses fingers*

I’d hate to go from rainbows and puppies and kittens to wanting to kick the kittens and puppies over the rainbow, lol.

I keep checking back on this one to see if a mod has “approved” my post as not spam and it seems like it has not happened.

Booo.

It definitely goes in cycles for me too. Part of it has to do with my monthly cycle- I get extra sensitive, emotional, frustrated, angry, etc that time of the month. Sometimes the bee helps me feel better, sometimes the bee triggers a mini-melt-down. Sometimes when other people get engaged I get upset- especially if they haven’t been dating very long- that is frustrating. I can go from hearts and sparkles and rainbows to sobbing in despair in 2 seconds flat. It takes me longer to feel normal again and that usually involves dessert and/or a bubble bath. Mostly when I feel resentful and frustrated and bitter- I just don’t feel like myself, and I don’t like that feeling.  I can got several weeks of being fine, sometimes I am upset every other day- it varies a lot. Sometimes I think I just get numb as self-preservation so that I don’t have to hurt. But it all goes in cycles. I hope today is a puppies and rainbows day for you 🙂

@MariaW:  Definitely cycles for me! Last weekend was all WHYGODWHY (lol) and didn’t subside til like Wedensday. Today I’m all puppies and rainbows…hope it lasts for awhile because like, HeartsandSparkles said, when I go to the other side (feeling resentful and frustrated), I just don’t feel like myself and I hate that.

@MariaW Your description is SO accurate…cycles, for sure. I am grateful to have a good, solid relationship but this waiting stuff is for the birds! lol

@Bunny82:  your response made me literally laugh out loud.

@OP:  For me, it definitely goes in cycles but it definitely helps that we went out yesterday to go custom my ering together. Before that, it was all talk, and talk is nice but “soon” didn’t really mean anything to me. Now comes the part of waiting/expecting- although his family is super expecting it so I’m like 95% sure it will happen in early January (2 days before our anniversary is when he told the jeweler it needed to be done by). I am now addicted to the Bee, and my productivity has jumped off a cliff.

It fluctuated for me while I was waiting. Some days I was able to be happy, keep my thoughts off of what I didn’t have, and some days, like when people got engaged or married, I would become exasperated with the whole waiting process.
