Time Frame: 15 days vacation
Cities to visit: Paris, Venice, Florence, Rome
Paris: 5 days (including travel to Paris)
Venice: 3 days
Florence: 3 days
Rome: 4 days (including traveling home)
Price includes flight, hotels, trains, tax (except transportation from Paris to Venice)
For anyone recently had vacation/honeymoon in Europe or will have, does this seem reasonable?
Follow up question: For those that have been to Venice, Florence and Rome, what do you recommend to do/see/eat and shop?

i have never been but personally it seems okay (coming from Australia anyway!) – is it for two or per person?

@nephthysa: It’s for my Fiance and I.

That sounds like a good deal!

For 2 people, soudns like a good deal, ANYWHERE!!! Although food will be costly, but overall, even with that taken into consideration, that is very reasonable!

I think it sounds like a good deal. Sometimes coach flights to Europe from the US can be $2000 per person or more during the peak season. I know for my date in March it would be at least a little over $1000 per person to Italy for just the flights there and back. If that price is for two for all those hotels and travel, I think it is a good deal depending on what flights generally cost for the time of year of your wedding and how nice the hotels are..

That’s a great deal for Europe. Just keep in mind you might spend another $1000 + on food, wine, shopping, etc.
We went to Italy 2 summers ago and spent WAY too much, but it was totally worth it. Just set aside more money than you think you’ll need for when you’re there.

That almost sounds TOO reasonable. Was this a quote you were given by a company? It seems on the low end for 15 days in Europe. Europe is not cheap.

The deal sounds very good! Though I must say a little ‘too’ good. How are you two being accomodated? What kind of hotels? How many people are in one room (Trust me ‘honeymoon’ trip or not, you should not assume this answer!) Would you mind if I ask where you saw this deal?

AMAZING deal. Usually costs us about 4k just to fly to Europe.

I like this kind of thing so I’m going to break it down although I admit ti sounds like a good deal if it is for 2 people including all taxes. I assume you are flying out of SFO on Oct. 2nd or 3rd. A quick Kayak.com search shows $1125 per person in flights so 2250 leaving you with $3330 for hotel and travel. depending on the types of hotels you have included, you may be able to get a better deal on your own. I tried looking at hotels but with no comparison, I have no idea if you want budget or stars. That being said, you can get a good hotel in Paris for $200 per night and it seems like you will be there 4 nights (check travelzoo (also the French site) and Groupon), so $2530. In fact, I would assume you can get a good hotel for $200 in each of those cities so then you have $530 for travel between Venice, Florence and Florence Rome. Knowing that trains in Italy are not so expensive (but I have not been on one recently to know actual price). I think your offer is good but, you could do better. In fact, the time of year you are traveling is off-peak for Europe so you will most likely do better on hotels and if you book in advance, you’ll get cheaper train fares between cities. However, if your package has you in 4 star, center city hotels, and/or business class flights, totally take the package.
I know this was not an quick answer but I think it helps to look at what makes up the package price before deciding if it’s good or not. I also find it interesting that almost everyone instantly said the package was a good price but never actually considered your circumstances. I guess that’s what happens when you spend half your life doing marketing research 😉 Hope I could be of at least some help.

sounds like a good deal to me as long as it’s not the middle of summer. venice gets really smelly…

@rosworms: “venice gets really smelly…”
Really!? Why? Cuz of the fish, or the water being dirty? Just asking so I know which kinda smell I can put up with and which I can’t. Lol!

It doesn’t sound bad.
We are going to Italy in November and I’m doing all the planning.(He’s nodding) Mind you, we are leaving from NYC. We are looking at just over $3k for Flights, 14 nights of hotels and Insurance. Breakfast is included everyday. I’m hopping to keep our spending <$3000 which will include travel within and between cities.
