I was disappointed, I thought Kate’s dress was kind of meh. I know she had to wear something traditional looking, but I was hoping it would have some designer touches, or at least more layers or texture — I thought everything looked flat and there was too much lace.
on a side note, what was with all of the forehead hats? this girl looks like a unicorn from the side.

If I was not having a June wedding or if I was having a church ceremony, it may have made me rethink my dress, because I do love hers. But, since I am having an outdoor wedding in the summer, I don’t think it’s appropriate and I love much dress, which is perfect for the type of wedding we are going for.

Nope, not even a little! She was so conservative it makes my dress look racy! I’m working some cleavage on my wedding day! Her dress was nothing special to me. I think she could have maintained the conservative look while showing off her figure in a more fitted and ornate number. Not impressed by the dress.

I love lace sleeves and considered them but I would have needed to have them fitted to me which would be expensive I’m assuming.
I’ll just go with lace cap sleeves- that I was already planning on.

Her dress was gorgeous and makes me now hate my own. I had been looking for something more covered all along but the best I could find was cap sleeves with a still-too-low-cut neckline that is being altered. I have a feeling now dresses with sleeves will come back into style, after the fact I have already picked mine. I already regret the dress I picked and the wedding isn’t even here yet 🙁

My wedding is in three months and I’m wearing a dress similar to the Monique Lhuillier Melissa (deep v, short lace sleeves, but no poof). I thought it was relatively unique in the world of wedding dresses…but now I wonder if people aren’t going to start thinking I was “inspired.”
Ah well, maybe it will improve its resale value?

Her dress is too plain for me… I do love lace, but the rest of the dress, was just… not quite me. But she looks good in it!

YES! it def made me rethink my own dress….maybe its because i havn’t tried mine on yet, but she looked so elegant and beautifull, and i never even wanted lace when i was looking for a dress.

@DiamondsandLace: FYI she only wore that sleeves thing for the Church of England, cause it’s required that brides over their shoulders and arms. At her reception, as shown on BBC America, that sleeves thing is a jacket that goes over her gown, and she took it off after the ceremony, so she only wears a strapless gown at the reception. Don’t change your gown just because of her. To be honest, the lace thing makes her look old.

Kate’s dress didn’t make me rethink mine, but her sister’s sure did – that was gorgeous!! Good thing my wedding’s in two weeks, or I might actually try to get something like it 🙂
