(Closed) does maitre d’= day of the event coordinator?

I don’t thinik it is the same. Our venue offers both. The maitre d’ is in charge of the floor – to make sure the GUESTS are attended to and serviced. The Event Coordinator will be in charge of the timeline of events for YOU. Though, I could be wrong about this, but that is my interpretation.

I definitely don’t think it is the same thing, but I’m not positive… you should definitely inquire about his exact "services" that are included in his price!

I don’t think its the same, either. a maitre d’ has specific responsibilities to oversee. I would check with your venue and ask exactly what the maitre d’ will be able to handle for you, and what it would cost. Then, based on what he/she can handle, you can determine if its worth it to hire that person, or find a DOC.
