I guess most people think it depends on personal circumstances and whatever makes the bride happy. Hopefully my mum will walk me down the aisle on the day. If not…you guys have made me less worried about walking down by myself 🙂
i don’t think I would walk down with my fiance since I would like to see his reaction when he sees me walk down the aisle but that’s a personal thing 🙂

Absolutely not. It would only be weird if you were close to your dad and it was an extremely traditional ceremony.

It’s your wedding. Do what YOU want.
I”ve been to weddings where the bride’s children walked her down the aisle. I’ve been to weddings where the bride walked solo. Hell, I was even to a wedding where the bride walked down with her dog.
I detest it when people do something out of obligation for tradition.

I”m probably going to have my brother do it….similar story, I don’t get along with my dad, have only recently started emailing him and I don’t want him at the wedding.
I did however tell him I was engaged, so he didn’t find out from other sources, but I’m yet to hear a congratulations – his response ‘it better be in Australia’ (I’m living in Canada). So as others have said, it’s your day, and you need to have someone walk you down the aisle that you are comfortable with, not just because it is ‘traditional’. He might be my father, but he sure as hell doesn’t act like one, and just being my biological father shouldn’t come with any rights like that.
