Your dress is AMAZING!!!! Yay for trumpets (I think thats what they are, I have one I should know but I’m not 100% sure). The dress looks AMAZING on you, and your waist is tiny! You also have to take into account the way you were standing too, if your feet were shoulder width apart in the photo it will do that. I also see that it has a good deal of beading at the bottom, consider it before you alter that because it may be very difficult to do so and making it seamless or look perfect.

It does look amazing on you, and in a way, I can see what you mean. It can’t hurt to ask about taking the dress in a bit just above the ruffles so that you get less of a trumpet shape and more of that nipped-in mermaid shape you want. As long as there is enough stretch and give in the fabric, taking it in a little shouldn’t prevent you from sitting.

That being said, that perfect trumpet/mermaid shape that you see in photos is due to strategic positioning and photoshop, anyway. Also, there’s a reason they don’t make the models sit down in these photoshoots. 😀

Both of these models below actually have their legs slightly crossed (the Divina more so) and they’re placing more weight on the back one to give the illusion of a much more curvy, nipped-in silhouette.

I can see what you mean, and you could certainly get it nipped in a little more so it’s more of a tapered mermaid silhouette. Just make sure it’s comfortable and you can still walk around easily (it shouldn’t affect your mobility).
