I am getting married outside a big red barn and I am having the reception in the barn. So it’s all rustic themed and I got a dress, but now I’m not so sure if it goes with theme of everything. What do y’all think?

I think having the dress you love and the theme are two totally different things. I would never let me choice of venue dictate my dress. No one will be thinking “her dress doesn’t match the venue”. That dress is gorgeous; enjoy it!

I agree with lucreziab . Nobody thinks “oh that bride’s dress doesn’t match this venue! for shame!”
And I LOVE your dress! It is exquisite!

Your dress is lovely! It is a very classic and stylish look and I think that the others are right that the bride doesn’t necessarily have to match the venue. I will say your dress doesn’t scream “RUSTIC BARN WEDDING” to me, but the look of this dress is so gorgeous and timeless I think it would fit within any theme.

I think it’s beautiful. The bride can never be overdressed!

Who cares, it’s gorgeous! As a PP said, it doesn’t necessarily scream ‘rustic barn!!’ but that’s ok. Besides, I kind of like it when the dress is a bit of a juxtaposition, like a ballgown on the beach or a boho dress in a castle.

Of course it matches your theme – it’s a wedding dress to be worn at a wedding venue!

I think it’s a pretty dress, and while it doesn’t scream barn wedding, if it makes you happy, go for it.
However…have you tried that dress on? I have, and found the lace to be really itchy. Just make sure you try it on before you make your final decision

I think it works, as long as you keep the skirt a-line and don’t add too much crinoline under it. The a-line will keep it less casual. But I think it’s totally appropriate!

I also think it doesn’t scream Barn Wedding, but it also doesn’t scream New York Club Girl, or French Fashion Show Runway.
It is just fine. Lovely. I like seeing dresses other than the tiresome strapless.

It’s a beautiful dress. I do think it’s a good idea for your dress to somewhat match the formality and style of your venue. That said, if you have a venue that you love and a dress that you love, it’s not the only consideration. Go for it.

I think it would be perfect with some brown cowboy boots!

You’re the bride, wear that you want! Even if your venue isn’t fancy that doesn’t mean you can’t be

No outfit screams “barn” unless it’s jeans and a plaid shirt and boots.
I agree with PPs- if you love it, wear it; and if you’re wearing your wedding dress at your wedding venue, they go together.
That’s a beautiful dress, by the way.

ha, that’s true. Now that I think about it, I have no idea how any wedding dress could possibly scream ‘barn’. That’s not exactly the nature of wedding dresses.
However, it is a wedding dress being worn by a bride at a wedding, therefore it fits perfectly.
