Jillyb33 :  when I had one it was 2.mm and looked just like yours.  I think it’s gorgeous ring.

Jillyb33 :  2mm is thin. That’s why people choose it — they want a thin band. A knife edge is going to look even thinner when viewed from the top down. I’m not sure how that would make the ring look costumey. If anything, the stone might. Not saying it does look costumey, but if it DID, it would be due to the stone, not the band.

Looks about right to me. The knife edge will make it look thinner (and yours looks to be a sharper knife edge, which would make it look even thinner). My knife edge is a little bit softer and is probably around 2.5mm.

I have the other version of the sol238a before the new changes in the 2.5mm version with a softened edge and rounded prongs requested and I would say your band looks about right at 2mm. I think you percieve ot as looking thinner because the angle you are used to looking at it in. Your ring is gorgeous and does not look like costume jewelry. You also have to remember your set will look more substantial after you add the band. Heres mine for reference!

Your ring looks great and like other PPs said it looks thin because of the knife edge but if wanted to try meauring it you would need to measure from the underside that sits against your finger instead of over the knife edge on the outside.

Mine is wider though it tapers towards the bottom and still looks thinner than yours. Why would thin make it look like costume jewelry?

Mine looks to be about 2.5mm I think- I can’t be positive, I just picked it at a local jewelry store. Your setting looks thinner than mine but just as lovely and not costumey at all! I’ll share a pic:
