Yep, I agree with preppy_bee…have alterations take in the hips a bit and you will get the look you’re going for. I personally don’t think the belt placement makes a huge difference. I would just tie it at your natural waist to accentuate it.

totally agree – that was what stood out to me. when I tried on my dress it looked so much better when it was taken in every so slightly along the thigh area.

I agree wiht taking in the hips a bit. and I absolutely LOVE your dress, who makes it?

I am thinking I really do want it taken in at the thighs. I was showing the pictures to my mom (the ones I photoshopped), and she was kind of discouraging taking it in, though. I think (she didn’t say this), it’s because it will undoubtedly cost more. I want to ask next time how much. I don’t want to waste money, but I feel like this could make a difference! Thanks for your encouragement!
mrsmattson: The dress is Maggie Sottero Kadee. And on the model of course, it’s much more fitted in the thighs..

how expensive was it to take it in a little? I don’t have another appt until April and I’m curious to know now what it could end up costing me…
thank you so much! Just got off the phone with my mom and was feeling like i won’t look perfect in the end (not bc of what she said, just tired and worried, i think). Your comment made me feel better again!
