mrsbinegar:  I would get a halo setting that fits your center stone better. As it is, it just doesn’t “flow”. I think leaving it this way would take away from the beauty of both the setting and the stone. The setting and the stone don’t look like they were meant to be together IMO.

I think your diamond is way too large for that setting.  I had to give up on a setting I liked for that reason too.

ETA: Answering the original question before the update!  I love what you chose!

mrsbinegar:  My setting is also a G&Co, as was the one that I had to reject because it was a bit too small!  I’m glad they were able to make your perfect setting!

It looks great now and still would with a different halo, it just depends on how comfortable you are with such a high set ring I guess.

Oh I just saw your update!  Gorgeous!!

Oooh, I see! I thought you had this one custom made based on a Gabriel design.

mrsbinegar:  It’s a bit high set over the halo for my taste, but it really is a show stoppingly gorgeous ring!  If you like it then rock it 🙂

I love the new setting you chose! The first setting was beautiful, but wasn’t a fan of the floating diamond.

I work in the medical field so would not be able to wear this style as it might cut through a glove, but I think this is pretty.  Just take into consideration everyday or career activities and make sure this style won’t hinder them as in the end you might find it less satisfying.  I do like it though.

I think your ring is gorgeous! I like how it “hovers” over the intricate band. Your halo is the perfect size and doesn’t overshadow your more than substantial stone. I love it!

ETA: You will get all sorts of opinions – but seriously? It’s a keeper 🙂
